Dieselgate or the Volkswagen Diesel problem was a huge setback for\u00a0Volkswagen<\/a>. Not only did it affect vehicles under its own brand it also\u00a0affected cars from other brands that are currently owned by the German giant. Even if the vehicle has a petrol combustion engine, it too has to suffer delays.<\/p>\n

This includes Porsche’s upcoming Ferrari<\/a> rival, which was set to launch between 2017 and 2020. However, due to what has happened in the past, that window has literally been thrown out of the window. As VW Group chief executive Matthias Muller has apparently delayed or cancelled any upcoming projects that we’re not tagged as absolutely\u00a0necessary.<\/p>\n

Simply known as the Porsche 960, the German sports car is to target not just the Ferrari 488 GTB<\/a> but also the Mclaren 650S<\/a> and Lamborghini Huracan<\/a>. Even though the 911<\/a> already have those three in close proximity, 960 models are to have a heart we’ve never seen in a road car for some time.<\/p>\n

A flat eight cylinder petrol engine. Said to pump out 650 horsepower, this unique engine is supported by not one or two turbochargers\u00a0but rather four instead.<\/p>\n

Due to the delay, that figure could increase to further blow rivals out of the water and create quite the tension within the segment. We could also see a hint of electrical power thrown into the mix to give the 960 an extra kick.<\/p>\n

It’s expected to have been delayed to launch in either six or nine years from now with no price point. For now, you can buy yourself a new Porsche 911<\/a> or used Porsche 911 for sale in Dubai<\/a>, Sharjah<\/a> and Abu Dhabi<\/a>.<\/p>\n
