SEMA is the where the world of automotive lunatics come to showcase their crazy tunes on standard\u00a0vehicles. Usually, we see Chargers<\/a>, Camaros<\/a>, Camrys<\/a>, and what not heavily modified with either ridiculous amounts of horsepower or an outlandish body kit. Never before have we seen a 2016 Land Cruiser<\/a>, though.<\/p>\n

While it may stick out like a sore thumb at the likes of SEMA, here are two reason why this one does. It’s an SUV, and it has 2,000 horsepower!<\/p>\n

You read that right. 2,000 ponies filter their way through the exhaust system via the\u00a0standard 5.7-litre V8 petrol engine aided\u00a0by Garret Turbochargers. Usually, that motor pumps out 381 horsepower, that’s 1681 more horsepower. Eat your heart out Lamborghini<\/a>, Ferrari<\/a>, Bugatti<\/a> and every other exotic\u00a0car manufacturer.<\/p>\n

Dubbed “The World’s Fastest\u00a0SUV” or the “Land Speed Cruiser”, the 2016 Land Cruiser is fitted with a custom transmission to cope with the massive increase, wider wheels and also sits lower to the ground, so there will be no offroading with this one. It’s claimed to be able to hit a top speed of 354 km\/h!<\/p>\n

No pictures of the interior are available, however, from the side shots and video racing seats take over up front at least for the driver, rear seats have been completely stripped out and in their place is as reinforced roll cage. The multimedia system is intact and is exactly where it should be even though it’s now used as an accurate and massive speedometer.<\/p>\n

Underneath, the vehicle appears to be strengthened too as at 300+ km\/h, the smallest thing can rupture anything and cause severe damage.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, Toyota are actually behind the project. They haven’t mentioned if they will release the enhancements to the general project, but one can dream right.<\/p>\n
