Over the past few years, manufacturers\u00a0are creating smaller turbocharged motors to power their\u00a0ultra powerful sports cars much like Ferrari has done recently. Lamborghini, on the other hand, aims to keep the naturally aspirated\u00a0V12 around for another couple of years.<\/p>\n
In Ferrari’s case, the mighty 4.4 litre V8 has been stripped out of their mid-level sports cars and replaced by a smaller turbocharged unit. Now rumours of their upcoming V12’s rolling out with hybrid technology borrowed from the LaFerrari.<\/p>\n
Lamborghini may truly be the last of its kind in a few years time while they currently work on keeping the naturally aspirated V12 alive and in line with strict emission tests around the world.<\/p>\n
While not announcing the Lamborghini Aventadors successor, the Italian brand confirmed the beast would stick around for another five or six years.<\/p>\n
As for their rivals, McLaren currently doesn’t have a V12 within their lineup nor is one being considered for the upcoming F1 successor, Mercedes are dropping a turbocharged V6 in their epic supercar leaving only Aston Martin the sole competition in terms of V12 power.<\/p>\n
What Lamborghini will do after the life cycle of the Aventador comes to an end is unknown, but for now, we can all breath a little easier knowing a naturally aspirated V12 still remains spitting fire everywhere it goes.<\/p>\n
