Sprint races aren’t unusual\u00a0when it comes to testing how fast one’s vehicle can go. Rolling up to the start line with a worthy competitor is even better as you can prove your car is superior in\u00a0every way. But what about pitting a 2017 Golf GTI against a Falcon?<\/p>\n

If that so happens to be a burning question that you can’t stop thinking about and it’s keeping you up at night, Volkswagen has your answer with “The Chase”.<\/p>\n

The 2017\u00a0Golf GTI in the video is the Clubsport trim. Fitted with aerodynamic bits and pieces and Dynamic Chassis Control it’s not just lightning quick through the corners but in a straight line too.<\/p>\n

With the accelerator firmly placed on the floor, 0-100 km\/h is achieved in an impressive 6.3 seconds. With its compact boost module pushing out 290 horsepower which should be more than enough to beat a Falcon in a straight line.<\/p>\n

Or is it? Those who know a thing or two about Falcon’s will immediately notice that taking to the skies is a Peregrine Falcon. Capable of reaching a top speed of 320 km\/h, this is one intense battle from start to end. And yes that is quicker than a handful of sports cars, no wonder it’s the national bird of the UAE.<\/p>\n
