Just this past week, Rolls-Royce has formally announced the all-new Phantom ultra luxurious\u00a0four door vehicle. While it has been given praise around the world for its elegant styling, not a word was spoken of the Phantom Drophead model.<\/p>\n
Not only was the convertible left out of the redesign, but two-door coupe variants\u00a0were also omitted leading\u00a0many to speculate the demise of both models.<\/p>\n
Rolls-Royce has yet to officially announce the discontinuation of the two models, and as it appears, the smaller Wraith and Dawn models will take their places respectively.<\/p>\n
What may come as a surprise to most, Rolls-Royce is\u00a0also open to the idea of expanding their lineup. With their first SUV on the horizon; Cullinan for those who may have forgotten, we’re not too sure what this means? Surely removing two models from the lineup and adding one isn’t really an expansion.<\/p>\n
They’ve already got two sedan’s, a coupe, convertible and SUV, what could this expansion mean? A crossover? Perhaps a hatchback similar to that of the Aston Martin Cygnet or a track focused version of the Wraith to battle Bentley’s\u00a0GT3R.<\/p>\n
One can dream, right? We are aware the quaint British manufacturer\u00a0will not build anything smaller than the current Ghost, ruling out our Roll-Royce badged hatchback idea.<\/p>\n
Rolls-Royce sold over 4,000 vehicles last year, and a few of those were Phantom Drophead and Phantom Coupe models. With their SUV scheduled to launch in 2019, sales are expected to break the 5,000 mark and open the doors to new customers.<\/p>\n
