Volkswagen Golf R hot hatches\u00a0are already desirable enough with 300 horsepower pumping though it’s veins and a 0-100 km\/h sprint time of just over five seconds, VW wants your Golf R to the talk of the town with these new options.<\/p>\n
First up is a titanium exhaust\u00a0system. Joining forces with Akrapovic the system not only sings a melodious harmony, but it also cuts overall weight by 6.8 kilos.<\/p>\n
A set of new brakes shaves an additional\u00a0two kilos thanks to a combination of steel and aluminium\u00a0to allow expansion when put under pressure to\u00a0suck in cold air with unique brake pads for increased precision.<\/p>\n
Additionally, VW has also added semi-slick tyres to the options list for those who love to push their Golf’s limits around the track. All three options are said to be made available for the next-gen Golf R ruling out the assumption that this is a one time deal.<\/p>\n
Just to clarify, these enhancements\u00a0do not add any additional power,\u00a0torque or cut down its 0-100 km\/h sprint time. Which begs the question, can these options help the Golf R to keep up with its rivals? Most notably the Honda Civic Type R and Ford Focus RS.<\/p>\n
Volkswagen has just started to release these options in select markets for the Golf R. While no price tag has been attached to either product, UAE and GCC customers may have to wait a while to reap the benefits.<\/p>\n
