Everyone and their dog knows that officially, the worlds fastest car is the Bugatti Veryon. With a record set way back in 2010, the Veyron Super Sport achieved a top speed of a mind-blowing\u00a0430.9 km\/h! Koenigsegg may have just blown that record out of the window with the\u00a0Koenigsegg Agera RS.<\/p>\n
Tucked away in the sands of Pahrump, Nevada USA,\u00a0Koenigsegg found the perfect stretch of tarmac for factory test driver Niklas Lilja to put the\u00a0Koenigsegg Agera RS to the ultimate\u00a0test: The Worlds Fastest Car.<\/p>\n
Speeding in both directions in order for a more accurate reading, Mr Lilja managed to hit 447.2 km\/h in the Agera RS beating the previous\u00a0record by 16.3 km\/h.\u00a0The difference may seem slow enough not to get a speeding ticket, but when it comes\u00a0to speed, that’s quite a difference.<\/p>\n
Doesn’t Bugatti have another model that is supposed to be faster in a straight line than its predecessor? Yes, they do, however, the Chiron<\/a> is said to be able to race to 450.6 km\/h but so far, has managed to achieve 420 km\/h.<\/p>\n Driving the Agera RS is a 5.0-litre V8 churning out 1,160 horsepower.<\/p>\n While the record-breaking\u00a0run is impressive and unofficial, there is another wild card gearing up to spoil the party. The recently revealed Hennessey Venom F5 reportedly maxes out at a staggering 300 mph or\u00a0482.8 km\/h, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.<\/p>\n Koenigsegg is said to build just 25 units of the Agera RS and according to the Swedish manufacturer, ten have already been sold leaving just 15 available to purchase.
