No this isn’t a body kit for the G63 6×6, this is its Chinese\u00a0counterpart, the BAIC BJ80 6×6. While the two do look somewhat similar, we have a feeling BAIC’s version is smaller.<\/p>\n
While some will say it is a direct clone, there are subtle differences between the two. Starting with the front end; a brush guard protects the grille while an LED light bar helps illuminate the road ahead. On the right side of the bonnet there’s a snorkel and below the previously mentioned bar\u00a0is a winch built into the front bumper.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the BAIC BJ80 6×6 has a roof rack, tow hook mounted below the rear spare tyre, rear exhaust\u00a0pipes and the vehicle model stuck to the rear bars.<\/p>\n
Inside, the six-wheeler shares the interior of the regular BJ80 with a few minor differences. The seats are one different as feature\u00a0contrasting stitching, enhanced leather and a diamond quilt pattern similar to the 6×6 the BJ80 is replicating. The steering wheel is also slightly\u00a0different as\u00a0it features perforated\u00a0leather.<\/p>\n
If you’re expecting the BAIC BJ80 to draw power from a V8, you would be wrong as the six-wheeler is powered by a Saab-sourced 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine rated at 250 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Complete with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, sources indicate there may be some form of hybrid technology involved too.<\/p>\n
The BAIC BJ80 6×6 will be on display at the upcoming 2018 Beijing\u00a0Auto Show that starts tomorrow.<\/p>\n
