For the first time, in 2019 the Chevy Silverado will be publicly available with a four-cylinder petrol engine bringing the total of drivetrains up to\u00a0six engine\/gearbox combinations.<\/p>\n
The four-pot motor comes with a 2.7-litre displacement which is said to replace the 4.3-litre V6 as the standard engine on LT and the new RST variants. Chevrolet says the new power unit produces 22% more torque and is more economical when it comes to fuel consumption.<\/p>\n
General Motors will continue to offer both the 5.3 and 6.2-litre petrol engines both of which have been updated for 2019 and are now equipped with Dynamic Fuel Management and feature no less than 17 different modes of cylinder deactivtion. In base trim, the 5.3-litre V8 produces 355 horses and 519 Nm of torque and the 6.2-litre is good for 420 horsepower and 623 Nm of torque is base trim levels.<\/p>\n
Of course,\u00a0the V6 has not been removed from the lineup entirely as GM continues to offer the 4.3-litre for 2019 which is rated at 285 hp and 413 Nm of torque. A 3.0-litre Duramax inline six turbodiesel is also available.<\/p>\n
Once again, Chevrolet offers a wide range of trims; LT, RST, WT, Custom, Custom Trial Boss, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country.<\/p>\n
Production for the crew-cab V8 starts later this year and shortly afterwards, production will expand to double-cab and regular models along with V6 and four-cylinder variants.<\/p>\n
