If you’re an avid fan of social media in the UAE, you would\u00a0have noticed the hundreds of images of G-Wagen’s flooding your feeds. Prepare for more as the New Mercedes-Benz G-Class has arrived in the UAE.<\/p>\n
Launched this week in Dubai, the next-generation of the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class features the latest technology, enhanced performance and the familiar\u00a0boxy shape G-Wagen lovers across the world.<\/p>\n
Starting with the latter, upon first glance there’s a refreshed front grille flanked by new LED headlights, and while it retains the boxy design, many of the vehicle’s lines are now round instead of straight.<\/p>\n
Overall, the latest version is 53mm longer and 121mm wider compared to the outgoing model and underneath its rugged appearance is new front suspension with independent double wishbones which\u00a0replace the 40-year-old\u00a0stick axle.<\/p>\n
Power comes courtesy of a revised twin-turbo\u00a04.0-litre V8 mated to a new nine-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. In the range-topping\u00a0G 63, the motor produces 585 horsepower.<\/p>\n
Inside, the New Mercedes-Benz G-Class follows the latest interior design of all high-end Mercedes models which includes the multi-function steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, redesigned\u00a0air-con vents and the two\u00a012.3-inch display modules.<\/p>\n
Also present is a drive-mode selector which allows the driver to select Comfort, Sport, Individual and Eco modes plus there is a unique drive mode for the G-Wagen called G-Mode.<\/p>\n
Selecting said mode adjusts the throttle, steering and gearing of the vehicle for off-road driving.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, thanks to its increased dimensions, rear legroom increases by 150mm.<\/p>\n
In the UAE, the G 500 starts at AED 440,000 and the G 63 starts at AED 600,000.<\/p>\n
