Porsche has silently revealed a new concept; the\u00a0Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Raylle.<\/p>\n
Set to tackle the gruelling Rallye Deutschland taking place later this month, the vehicle is based on the Cayman GT4 Clubsport and is fitted with some enhancements\u00a0in order for it to compete.<\/p>\n
The German manufacturer hasn’t gone into great detail regarding\u00a0the car, but there are auxiliary\u00a0lights attached to the bonnet and roof-mounted\u00a0scoop. Upon further inspection, we also\u00a0spotted a roll-cage, additional\u00a0underbody cladding and all-terrain ready rubber surrounding the rims.<\/p>\n
Similar to the standard model, the\u00a0Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport will likely\u00a0draw power from a 3.8-litre six-cylinder motor with 380 horsepower and will most likely\u00a0be connected to a PDK transmission.<\/p>\n
Porsche haven’t said much about the model, although they will enter it in a rally race with Romain Dumas behind the wheel. The very same Romain Dumas that raced his way up Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in a blistering 7 minutes and 57.148 seconds setting a new record driving the Volkswagen ID R Pikes Peak.<\/p>\n
The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Rallye will take part in the Rallye Deutschland and will serve as a testbed to gather feedback about the vehicle. The information gathered will then be used to determine “if a similar car, based on a future model, could be developed.”<\/p>\n
Not much is known about the\u00a0Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, but it is expected to launch in 2019. Reports suggest the latest model will exert more downforce and more power. It will also be “easier to drive” and more accessible to buyers as it won’t be a limited run this time.<\/p>\n
