Ferrari is no stranger to the realms of one-off projects. Over the years, the Italian powerhouse has built the SP275 RW Competizione, SP1, P540 Superfast, SP12 EC plus many more all of which have their own distinct look. The latest Ferrari P80\/C is no different.<\/p>\n
Commissioned by TK, an unnamed\u00a0Ferrari customer of which they describe as “a great connoisseur of the Ferrari world.” With the special client came a special request, “create a modern sports prototype inspired by two iconic models from Ferrari’s history; the 330 P3\/P4 and the 1966 Dino 206 S.”<\/p>\n
Based on the 488 GT3 race car due to its longer wheelbase and performance, the cockpit sits further ahead allowing for a longer rear end giving the one-off even more character.<\/p>\n
Boasting muscular front and rear wings, wraparound windscreen and a wide rear, these are all inspired by prolific Ferrari’s including the Dino 206 S, 250 LM Berlinetta and 330 P3\/4.<\/p>\n
Constructed entirely from carbon fibre, the special Ferrari is finished in vibrant Rosso Vero.<\/p>\n
The interior is near identical to the standard 488 GT3 with roll cage integrated into the bodywork. There are some subtle differences such as the seat upholstery and carbon-fibre door panels that have been personalised.<\/p>\n
Ferrari hasn’t revealed any technical specs, but it’s safe to say the potent 488 GT3 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 drives the rear axle connected to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.<\/p>\n
How much this special Ferrari cost is also a mystery, but it’s probably better that way.<\/p>\n
