Due to the COVID-19 breakout, the 2020 Geneva Motor Show has been cancelled, but that doesn’t mean we’ll miss out on this year’s biggest launches. One of which is the 2021 Mercedes E-Class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unveiled online, Mercedes’ popular E-Class lineup has been compressively updated and upgraded for the new model year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new design<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Right off the bat, the new styling cues are evident. Redesigned headlights flank the wider grille while encased in a new front bumper. Not exactly revolutionary, but the rear differences are more prolific. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horizontal compact triangular shaped lights borrowed from the CLS class sit in a different bumper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An additional three new paint finishes have been added to the specs list along with an expanded wheel range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the 2021 E-Class gets the latest generation MBUX infotainment system and revised digital instrument panel graphics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two 10.25-inch screens are standard across the E-Class lineup with the option to upgrade to 12.3-inch displays. Both can be used via the new touchpad in the centre console, voice control or hand gestures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energizing seat kinetics is a new feature for the E-Class and changes the posture of the seat by movements for increased comfort when driving. This is achieved with musical, lighting and massaging features working together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new ‘PowerNap’ program comes with all PHEV vehicles, with three phases – falling asleep, sleep and waking. This comes in handy when drivers are commuting long distances or when charging the battery en route. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new 2021 Mercedes E-Class lineup<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On top of the refresh is a range of new variants added to the lineup as well as new engine variants with integrated starter generator (ISG) and 48-volt technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seven of said variants will be plug-in hybrid models including a diesel-electric hybrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A newly developed 2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (M254) will make its debut with 268 horsepower plus an additional 20 hp thanks to the 48-volt mild-hybrid system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A turbocharged inline-six-cylinder borrowed from the CLS lineup will also be available with 363 horses plus an extra 20 with an identical system as the smaller unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will it arrive in the UAE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Having just been unveiled in Germany, the 2021 E-Class will arrive in the UAE later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
