Rimac Nevera breaks 23 world records in a single day. The Rimac Nevera electric hypercar recently had a field day at an automotive testing facility in Germany where it broke 23 different acceleration and braking world records, thereby dethroning the likes of the Koenigsegg Regera. It is now officially quicker than advertised by the Croatian marque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rimac Automobili was founded in 2009 by Mate Rimac. The first car developed by Rimac Automobili was the Rimac e-M3, an electric car based on the E30 BMW M3. Rimac unveiled the Concept One at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and it immediately grabbed the attention of all those who said electric vehicles couldn\u2019t perform as well as those powered by petrol engines. The Concept One could accelerate from 0-100km\/h in 2.6 seconds and the claimed top speed was 355km\/h. Only 8 units of the Rimac Concept One were built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show, Rimac unveiled the Concept Two, which was later renamed the Nevera. Given that the Concept One was no slouch, the Nevera was expected to be much faster, and boy did it live up to the expectations and then some more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rimac Nevera is powered by four electric motors that together produce 1,914hp and 2,360Nm. Rimac claimed a top speed of 415km\/h and a 0-60mph (97km\/h) time of 1.85 seconds. On 30 April 2023, Rimac took to the Automotive Testing Papenburg track with a unique Nevera to break some records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nevera in question is a sort of homage to the Rimac e-M3 with its bottom end finished in the same Green colour as the Rimac e-M3 from 2011. This Rimac was running on road-legal Michelin Cup 2 R tyres and not racing slicks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials from Dewesoft & RaceLogic were present at the tests to independently verify Rimac\u2019s record-breaking run. Dewesoft is a data measurement and testing company that Data loggers and various other systems for accurate measurement of performance and other vehicular parameters. RaceLogic is a brand with expertise in V-Box manufacturing and performance data logging equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rimac Nevera fully used the 4-kilometre-long straights on the Papenburg track. The new records set by the Rimac Nevera are found in the table placed below. However, there is one record that is absolutely mind-boggling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rimac Nevera accelerated from 0 to 400km\/h and then braked to 0km\/h, all in just 29.94 seconds. To put that into perspective, the Bugatti Chiron took 42 seconds while the Koenigsegg Regera took 31.49 seconds to complete the same acceleration and braking run. Most fighter jets take about 25 seconds to reach around 385km\/h which is their take-off speed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, Rimac seems to have to put to rest the debate about which car accelerates the fastest. The question is, will Bugatti or Koenigsegg do anything to steal the crown from the Nevera? Given how quick those hypercars already are, it might nevera be possible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
