The 2024 Volkswagen Touareg has been revealed ahead of its launch. The new Touareg comes with a redesigned front end and quite a few styling elements added to it. The engine options too get an update as the new Touareg will be available only with V6 engines.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Volkswagen Touareg was first launched in 2022. Developed jointly by Porsche and Volkswagen, the new SUV and the platform it is built on were set to take the competition to other full-size European SUVs. Being a part of the same family, the Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, and Audi Q7 all share the same platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, three generations of the Touareg have been developed and there are some iconic versions of the SUV. For instance, the first-gen Touareg could be specced with a massive\u00a0 6.0-litre W12 engine. Then came the Volkswagen Touareg used in the Dakar Rally. However, these were in the early years of the Touareg. Over time, the Touareg turned into an economical SUV that is kinder to the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design & Styling<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, Volkswagen has revealed the facelifted Touareg. To bring it in line with the latest VW family design language, the new Touareg features LED matrix headlamps up front. The headlamps are underlined and connected by an LED strip that runs horizontally across the grille. The VW badge sits prominently at the centre. The grille has been redesigned and the bumper too has been altered to accommodate the larger grille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When viewed from the side, the new 22-inch alloy wheels are sure to grab your attention. However, these wheels are available only on the R-Line and R variants. The rest have to make do with 19 or 21-inch wheels. At the rear, the LED tail lamps are connected by a LED strip and the VW logo is illuminated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern Interior<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step inside the SUV, and there isn\u2019t much of a difference. The same Innovision Cockpit has been carried over from the outgoing model. This comprises a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system. VW claims the system now gets a better version of voice controls and wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Sound is reproduced through a 730-Watt Dynaudio audio system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engine Options \u2014 V6 Is The Way To Go<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As aforementioned, the VW Touareg now only comes with V6 engine options. The brilliant V8 turbo-diesel was discontinued back in 2021 and now, the inline-4-cylinder petrol engine too is gone. With the new 2024 update, there is one petrol engine option, two diesel engine options, and one strong hybrid on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
