Bugatti hosts a unique driving experience for its customers at the Kennedy Space Center. The French hypercar manufacturer organised the \u2018Bugatti 400 Drive\u2019 to give a select few buyers a taste of driving at high speeds at a historic location. 18 Bugatti Chiron owners clocked over 400km\/h in their hypercars on the iconic space shuttle landing runway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bugatti & The Kennedy Space Center \u2014 Exquisite Icons<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bugatti is one of the most iconic and exquisite car brands in the world. It makes some of the fastest cars in the world and only the ultra-wealthy own Bugatti\u2019s cars. Millionaires and Billionaires make up Bugatti\u2019s clientele and such clients always desire unique experiences with their cars. The Bugatti 400 Drive organised in April is one such experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The John F. Kennedy Space Center is one of the most iconic locations in the world of space travel. Located on Meritt Island in Florida was previously known as NASA Launch Operations Center and was founded in 1962. It has in the past been the base for iconic space operations like the Apollo Program, Skylab, the Space Shuttle Program, and even the recent Artemis program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the many facilities at the Kennedy Space Center is the Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF). In essence, the SLF is a massive runway used for the recovery of space shuttles. At 4.7 kilometres in length, it is one of the longest runways in the world. This runway is the main reason for Bugatti to use the Kennedy Space Center for the Bugatti 400 Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The W16 Quad-Turbo Engine & Its Incredible Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>The Bugatti Chiron is powered by an 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbo engine that puts out 1,479hp and 1,600Nm. It can accelerate from 0-100km\/h in 2.5 seconds. Acceleration from 0-402km\/h takes just 32.6 seconds and the top speed is said to be around 440km\/h. With performance numbers like these, the Bugatti Chiron truly is unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, no public highway on earth is long enough and safe enough to accommodate these speeds. The Bugatti Chiron feels right at home making appearances at red-carpet events and gala dinners. However, it is equally at home at speeds of over 400km\/h and Bugatti organises events like the 400 Drive every now and then to give its customers a chance to take their own cars beyond 400km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time though, it was extra special as the customers were doing it on the very same piece of tarmac that space shuttles use for their landing. Every single one of the 18 customers managed to take their Bugattis over 400km\/h with some clocking more than 412km\/h. Drivers were handed a personalised race suit, a certificate, and a special helmet. Etched on the helmet were the names of the drivers, the speed they achieved, and the date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
