In the automotive world, few names evoke the same level of awe and admiration as Lamborghini<\/a>. A marque synonymous with power, style, and unbridled performance, Lamborghini has consistently pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the world of supercars. The Lamborghini Huracan is a great example of what the brand can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lamborghini Huracan<\/a> is one of the most popular supercars in the world. The Huracan remained the best-selling Lamborghini model from 2014 when it debuted until 2018 when the Lamborghini Urus<\/a> took that title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini Huracan Origins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2003, Lamborghini launched the Gallardo, a mid-engined supercar smaller than the flagship Murcielago at the time. A 5.0-litre V10 engine powered the Lamborghini Gallardo and it soon became the best-selling Lamborghini. In fact it still remains the most sold Lamborghini model of all time with over 14,000 units sold.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Lamborghini Gallardo<\/a> received a facelift in 2008, but it was quite obvious that a successor was on the horizon. In 2013, Lamborghini ended production of the Gallardo, and in December of the same year, they revealed the new mid-engined Lamborghini Huracan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini launched it in 2014, naming it after the Spanish word for hurricane. The Huracan draws its inspiration from a fighting bull named Huracan, which etched its name in history during a ferocious fight in 1879.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini Huracan Engine & Performance <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A 5.2-litre V10 engine<\/a> powers the Lamborghini Huracan. It produces between 572hp & 631hp and 540Nm & 601Nm depending on the model and variant. It is paired with a lightning-quick 7-speed dual-clutch transmission<\/a> (DCT).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Lamborghini Huracan Variants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Huracan Coupe (LP 610-4)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The first model of the Huracan. The 610 was derived from 610PS which translates to 602hp and the 4 in the name denoted all-wheel drive. It included 12.3-inch TFT instrumentation 20-inch wheels and three drive modes \u2014 Strada, Sport, and Corsa. It was produced between 2014 and 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huracan Spyder (LP 610-4)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2016, it was the convertible version of the LP610-4. The powertrain and interior remained the same. The addition of a soft-top necessitated a few reinforcements to the chassis to give it more rigidity, Production ended in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n

Huracan Performante<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This was a track-oriented version of the Huracan. With racetrack performance being prioritised, it also received a few design changes to enhance aerodynamics. The 5.2-litre V10 was tuned up to produce 631hp and 601Nm. It also weighed around 40kg lower than the standard Huracan. The Huracan Performante was produced between 2017 and 2019 while the Huracan Spyder was produced from 2018 to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huracan Evo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, the Lamborghini Huracan received a facelift. As a result, the earlier naming conventions were discontinued too. The base variant was called the Huracan Evo. It shared some of its technology and the engine with the Performante variant. Production started in 2019 and is set to end in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n

Huracan Evo Spyder<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The convertible version of the Evo also went into production in 2019 with the same engine and interior as the Evo. However, an electrically operated soft-top replaced the metal roof. Production of the Evo Spyder is set to end in 2024 too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huracan Evo RWD<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The standard Huracan Evo features AWD and Lamborghini wanted to make a more affordable version for the purists. The Evo RWD features a 602hp output and power is sent to the rear wheels only. It went into production in 2020 and production is expected to end in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huracan STO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata. This version of the Huracan is basically a racecar for the road. It is based on the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo racecar and the styling on this one is pretty loud and in your face. Powered by the same 5.2-litre V10 producing 631hp, the power is sent only to the rear wheels instead of all four, just like on the racecar. It went into production in 2021 and will end in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n

Huracan Tecnica<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini developed the Huracan Tecnica for those who want something more hardcore than the Evo, but not as track-focused as the STO. Its suspension<\/a> and mannerisms are more road-oriented than the STO despite it using the same engine and rear-wheel-drive setup<\/a>. It went into production in 2022 and will end in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huracan Sterrato<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is for those who fantasize about taking a supercar off-road. It is a proper off-road supercar. Lamborghini increased the ground clearance by 47mm and improved the approach angle by 1% and the departure angle by 6.5%. It gets off-road tyres<\/a> and wider fender flares.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini Huracan Special Editions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Huracan Polizia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Huracan Polizia is the official police car variant. Lamborghini produced it for the Italian State Police, finished in the Blue Polizia body colour. The brand also equipped it with several other special features required by the police force.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huracan Avio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini produced only 250 units of this limited-edition Huracan. The Huracan Avio, dedicated to the Italian Air Force, comes in five special color options. They tuned the 5.2-litre V10 to produce 602hp.<\/p>\n\n\n

Huracan Evo GT Celebration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Lamborghini Huracan racecars took the victory in their class at the 2018 24 Hours of Daytona and 2019 12 Hours of Sebring endurance races. To pay tribute to these victories, Lamborghini produced the limited edition Evo GT Celebration. In order to commemorate the 36 hours of victorious racing, we Lamborghini limited production to 36 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
