Originally released in 2002 the Honda Pilot will change once more to the new third generation 2016 Honda Pilot, which will feature an array of new variations, options and safety features.<\/p>\n

The Honda Pilot 2016 will come in 5 separate trim levels starting off with the LX model, then EX, EX-L, Touring and the highest trim level being the Elite. Two Gearbox options will be available, a 6 speed automatic which will be present in the LX, EX and EX-L trims and a 9 speed automatic for the Touring and Elite variants. As for the seating arrangements all models except the Elite will seat 8 people, like the ever so popular Nissan Patrol<\/a>. The Elite trim replaces the 2nd row of three seats with two \u2018captain\u2019 chairs instead and seats a total of seven people. The Elite trim will be the only model to receive parking sensors, blind spot detection mirrors and a panoramic roof.<\/p>\n

The traction control management has been given an overhaul, with settings for normal (road driving), sand (off-road\/desert), mud (wadi\u2019s) and snow (well that won\u2019t happen). Adjusting the system will alter gearshifts, traction control and throttle response, the suspension has been been given a upgrade to be 25% stiffer. Its length has been increased by just under nine centimeters and sits lower to the ground by two and a half centimeters.<\/p>\n

\"honda2\"<\/a>Exterior wise the Honda Pilot 2016 model has been given a more rounded shape to match what else is on the road and drop the old boxy look. Safety wise, the 2016 Honda Pilot incorporates high strength steel throughout its entire body in order to keep all occupants as safe as possible if an accident occurs. Other safety features include lane departure assistance, road departure warning system and a few others. 18 inch tyres will come standard with the Honda Pilot and the top two trim levels will come equipped with 20 inch tyres instead. For lighting, Elite will receive LED and xenon adaptive headlights.<\/p>\n

\"honda3\"<\/a> \"honda4\"<\/a>The Honda Pilot 2016 interior varies from trim to trim, the lower two trims won\u2019t come equipped with a navigation system, whereas in the Touring and Elite it will be standard and in the EX-L trim it will be an optional extra. All trims except for LX will come equipped with a touchscreen 8-inch display unit in the centre console. The two highest tiers will come with a rear entertainment system with a Blu-Ray player and an HDMI input mounted in the middle of the roof, and it will be an optional extra in the EX-L.<\/p>\n

The new Honda Pilot 2016 model will come with the same V6, 3.5 litre engine which generates 280 horsepower, an increase of 30 horsepower from the 2015 model, which puts it just above the 273 horsepower for the Mazda CX-9<\/a>. The gearbox sends power to either two wheels or all-four wheels.<\/p>\n
