Dongfeng<\/a> has unveiled the Warrior M817, its latest intelligent flagship off-roader. The vehicle has been added to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology\u2019s (MIIT) list of approved production models, signifying its entry into production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warrior M817 stands out for its large size and strong performance. It has a wheelbase of 3,005mm, with a length of 5,100mm, a 1,998mm width, and a height of 1,899\/1,919mm.. The different height options depend on whether it uses coil springs or air suspension. The M817 also has approach and departure angles of 30\u00b0 and 30\u00b0\/25\u00b0 respectively. This means it offers more off-road capability than many SUVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the bonnet, the M817 is powered by an intelligent multi-mode plug-in hybrid system. It can produce more than 700hp, thanks to its \u201cPlateau Power Star\u201d engine. The system adjusts to different driving modes, including all-electric for city driving, low-speed range-extending for fuel saving, and hybrid for maximum power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warrior M817 draws inspiration from military vehicles, featuring a rugged exterior with sharp lines and a robust stance. It is equipped with distinctive LED lighting, including illuminated logos and grille lights. The vehicle is also fitted with three LiDAR sensors on the roof, supporting Huawei\u2019s Qiankun ADS 4.0 intelligent driving system. This system offers features like auto-braking and lane-keeping assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Features & Customisation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dongfeng has equipped the Warrior M817 with a range of custom options. Customers can choose factory-fitted extras like top cover trim, headlights, and electric side steps. The vehicle also comes with towing capability and an optional trailer hitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The air spring version has more advanced features. It includes rear-wheel steering, a 150mm adjustable air suspension, and a garage mode that lowers the chassis by 45mm. This helps with parking in tight spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The M817 is available in both city and off-road versions. The off-road variant includes nitrogen shock absorbers, anti-detachment rims, and all-terrain tyres for better performance on rough terrain. Additionally, the vehicle offers a six-seat configuration and a longer body, extending up to 5,600mm in length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potential UAE Launch <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Dongfeng has not confirmed international availability, there is speculation about the M817’s potential entry into international markets, including the UAE.  Its combination of military-grade engineering and advanced technology positions it as a strong contender in the premium off-road SUV segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
