{"id":8677,"date":"2016-07-20T18:33:33","date_gmt":"2016-07-20T14:33:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dubicars.com\/news\/?p=8677"},"modified":"2017-01-11T10:36:15","modified_gmt":"2017-01-11T06:36:15","slug":"only-2000-2017-mercedes-amg-gt-rs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dubicars.com\/news\/only-2000-2017-mercedes-amg-gt-rs.html","title":{"rendered":"There could be only 2000 2017 Mercedes AMG GT R&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three weeks ago, Mercedes took off the wraps and unleashed the beast that is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dubicars.com\/news\/2017-mercedes-amg-roadster-confirmed-and-spied.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R<\/a>.\u00a0Unveiled at Goodwood Festival of Speed in a similar fashion to a James Bond film, no one knew just how many were to be built, the majority of us thought thousands will be built. That&#8217;s not the case anymore, though.<\/p>\n<p>At the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dubicars.com\/news\/2017-mercedes-gt-r-pics-are-in-and-its-very-green.html\" target=\"_blank\">wild unveiling<\/a>, Mercedes said that the beast would not be a limited production. However, recent reports suggest that the German manufacturer\u00a0has reverted the design\u00a0and could limit the production to just 2000 units.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number reasons why the German icon has done it. One: is to make the car as desirable as possible as everyone knows, items that are limited edition\u00a0customers snap up immediately.\u00a0And as the years go by, prices soar to new heights even exceeding double it&#8217;s original\u00a0value.<\/p>\n<p>The second reason is to keep the cars in the hands of clients you will use the machine to its full potential. Mercedes also went on to say that they believe most if not all of the green beasts will spend most of their times achieving the perfect lap time on closed tracks.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time we&#8217;ve seen this over the past two years as similarly Porsche originally planned\u00a0to keep the Cayman GT4 production for a while.
