Here are 10 famous cars with animal-inspired names, along with two honorary mentions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford Mustang<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Animal: Mustang horse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ford Mustang is one of the best-known animal-linked car names in the world. The Mustang is a free-roaming horse strongly associated with the American West, and the galloping horse badge became central to the car’s identity. Interestingly, Ford’s historical material also links the original name to the P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft. Even so, the horse connection became so strong that the Mustang later helped define the entire pony car segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Plymouth Barracuda takes its name from a fast predatory fish known for its long body, sharp teeth and quick bursts of speed.
