With electric vehicles being all the rave at the moment, everyone and we mean everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. However, Mercedes is doing something similar to German rival BMW<\/a>. Instead of launching the EV models within its lineup already, the German manufacturer\u00a0is to launch an exclusive name for these models.<\/p>\n

The electric powertrain is said to hide underneath at least\u00a0four bodies; two of which will be SUV’s and the other two are sedans are to present when the brand launches which is still without a name.<\/p>\n

Once launched, the German brand is rumoured to achieve an impressive 500 kms\u00a0on a single charge with their all-electric SUV. If they can achieve that with a vehicle that weighs in at over a tonne, the electric market is their\u00a0oyster with other body styles.<\/p>\n

While it’s not known when exactly these electric powered vehicles would hit the market and what price point they will carry, however before the end of the decade seems feasible.<\/p>\n

Each individual model will not resemble anything else in the current lineup but rather will sport a unique look of their own. Similar trim pieces may appear across the range.<\/p>\n

Once launched, the entire brand will rival not just the BMW i Series<\/a>, but also the ultimate powerhouse in the electric vehicle industry\u00a0Tesla. Tesla themselves have two sedans and an SUV and are contemplating\u00a0on entering the Truck market.<\/p>\n
