Coronavirus: New car registration rules in RAK

Motorists living in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) who need to renew or register a vehicle in the Emirate will have to adhere to a new set of rules in line with the protection and prevention of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Announced last week by RAK Police, entry to Enoc Tasjeel/registration will be restricted to certain gates, said Brig Dr Mohamed Al Humaidi, director-general of central operations at the RAK Police.

Gates 1 and 3 will be reserved for traffic transactions and a member of staff is a assigned to each gate to regulate entry to the facility.

Traffic transactions being processed include car testing, registration renewal, registration transfer locally or abroad, and chassis measurement.

Gate 2 is for testing vehicles only.

Brig Al Humaidi urges all visitors to wear a face mask glove at all times, and maintain social distancing.

Two counters within the centre are dedicated to receiving and processing vehicle test certificates.

“Testing fees and reports will be handed over by a special staffer, so drivers don’t have to step inside the station for his safety and health,” the officer added.

Drivers will then be directed to the number plate issuing area where they can pick up their new registration card and number plates.

To know more, you can call Tasjeel in RAK on +9717 226 3045. They are open every day from 9 am to 3 pm.
