McLaren 3-seater takes to the asphalt for the first time

Yet another test car from McLaren has been spotted gobbling up the road. Last time was a bizarre track-inspired sports car, this time it’s a McLaren 3-Seater.

Codenamed BP23, the new model bears many similarities to the iconic McLaren F1 of yesteryear. There’s a three-seat setup for example instead of the traditional two-seat configuration sports car manufacturers are producing, and just 106 units will be produced, all of which are sold out already.

McLaren has yet to spill the beans on numbers or an engine for that matter. However, expect a tuned version of the V8 twin-turbo 4.0-litre petrol engine to be present with some form of hybrid power.

Regarding numbers, expect the 3-seater to churn out an in insane 1,000 horsepower if not more. This would allow it to accelerate substantially quicker than its predecessor and reach a higher top speed.

In case you are unaware, McLaren F1 models boast a 6.1-litre V12 petrol engine rated at 627 horsepower and is exclusively available with a 6-speed manual driving the rear wheels. The legendary car can hit 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 386 km/h.

Those numbers are still impressive to this day when compared to modern day sports cars.

How much will you have to spend for a McLaren 3-Seater?

Are you sat down? Good, one unit is priced at around $2.5-million or AED 9,182,500, and that’s if you were one of the lucky few who were shortlisted.

McLaren has also stated that this model will not be part of the Ultimate Series and the quaint manufacturer has plans to unleash a track-ready hypercar which you can expect to show up in the next two years.

No release date is known at this time either. Sit tight, enjoy the pictures and try to wait patiently for this incredible machine.

Dubicars.com has new McLaren and used McLaren for sale in Dubai and Sharjah.
