2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 can hit 97 Km/h in first

2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 models may appear underpowered when stacked up against the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and the upcoming 2017 Ford Mustang GT500. When it comes to hitting 97 km/h, the Chevy sits on top as only a single gear is required to achieve the feat.

Although that’s mighty impressive, in order to hit that mark in first, owners of the Camaro will have to have a six-speed manual transmission control the rear wheels instead of the 10-speed automatic gearbox.

Chevrolet hasn’t released exact numbers and specifications of how fast the 2017 ZL1 can achieve this feat. Previous models could hit the number in 4 seconds with 580 horsepower on tap and an extra 100 kg. With 650, expect that to drop to at least 3.7 seconds.

Both the Coupe and Convertible models of the ZL1 are capable of attaining the feat. Coupe prices start at $62,135 or AED 228,200 and for the convertible $69,135 or AED 254,000 and are destined for showrooms later this year or early next year.

The American brand has also admitted that the 10-speed auto transmission will be just as impressive but as it’s automatically controlled, it won’t be beating the manual off the line.

In this segment of vehicles, the top three American’s are always battling over who is better and with the 2017 GT500 producing 750 horsepower, and the 2017 ZL1 being able to reach 0-97 km/h in first gear what has Dodge got under their sleeves for the Hellcat?
