2018 Armada to be equipped with video-streaming rearview mirror

Nissan is getting set to introduce the 2018 Armada in select markets and with it a new piece of technology to sweeten the deal. While we say it is new, it is for Nissan as we have seen it before on the 2016 Cadillac CT6.

This technology incorporates a high-definition wide-angle LCD with the traditional rear view mirror. Once turned on, a rear-facing camera integrated into the tail gate feeds live video straight to the mirror providing a clearer view of whats behind.

A useful addition if tall passengers are present or large cargo is obstructing the view. Drivers can easily switch between a live camera feed and a conventional mirror with a simple press of a button.

According to Nissan, the system also improvises visibility in low-light conditions or when glare is detected.

Intelligent Rearview Mirror or I-RVM will be standard on Platinum trim levels.

2018 Armada still a region exclusive

Nissan’s 2018 Armada will not be sold officially in the UAE and GCC countries as it is essentially a rebadged Nissan Patrol with some additional body cladding. Oddly enough, the V8 5.6-litre pushes out 10 less horsepower than the Patrol but is able to tow up to 3856 kilos.

However, if you desperately want to get your hands on one, you can import one from the States or search the local market for one as a handful have been spotted.

2018 Armada prices start from $46,795 or AED 171,882.

Dubicars.com has new Nissan Armada and used Nissan Armada for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
