Infiniti QX70 dropped from 2018 lineup

Over the past few years, crossover vehicles have rapidly caught traction in the minds of potential buyers. Brands such as Infiniti, Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes and others have jumped on the band wagon to rake in the profits. At this time, recent reports have Infiniti axing one of their crossovers, notably the Infiniti QX70, which may come as a surprise to some.

Since 2009, the QX70 has remained relatively unchanged with only minor refreshes over the years.

Last year, you may remember the luxury brand launched a Limited Edition version of the QX70 with only a unique lick of paint, a few exterior modifications and a custom interior to breathe some life into the model.

With no real refresh in the pipeline, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Infiniti plans to discontinue their larger crossover in favour for the smaller QX50 which is also due for a refresh that has conveniently been announced for 2018.

As of writing, the Infiniti QX70 will be dropped in North America for 2018. It’s unknown if the model will continue in other markets including the GCC.

There appears to be no clear successor although rumour has it, Infiniti is planning to launch a Nissan Murano based vehicle in the near future. Once again, it’s unclear which markets this “new” model will be available. We’ll know more about the model closer to its launch date which is slated for sometime in either 2020 or 2021.

Dubicars.com has new Infiniti QX70 and used Infiniti QX70 for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
