Aventador SVJ Roadster confirmed

Teased over the past couple of months and unveiled at the recent Monterey car week, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has taken the motoring world by storm. But as quick as it is from 0-100 km/h, Lamborghini is said to be working on an Aventador SVJ  Roadster which has already caught the attention of the spotlight without even being revealed.

Sources indicate that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) have signed an executive order on the 23rd of August certifying four Lamborghini vehicles for 2019; these include the Aventador SVJ Coupe and Aventador SVJ Roadster as well as S Coupe and Roadster variants.

The SVJ Roadster will be mechanically identical to the coupe version. That means at its heart is a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 pushing out a massive 770 horsepower. Connected to a seven-speed ISR transmission, power is sent to all four wheels which allows the Raging Bull to launch from 0-100 km/h in an eye-watering 2.8 seconds.

Similar to the hardtop, the Aventador SVJ Roadster will use the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva system which debuted on the Huracan Performante, although with a few changes due to the roof being removed.

It’s not yet known when Lamborghini will show off the Aventador SVJ Roadster, but in the past, we can expect it to be revealed.

Lamborghini has confirmed they will build 900 Aventador SVJ’s, but it’s not known if the Aventador Roadster SVJ is part of that number or if they will be part of a separate run.
