Is the C-Class Black Series being dropped

We’ve been anticipating a C-Class Black Series model as much as you have. However, recent reports suggest we not see a Black Series model in the next coming months or years.

One publication approached Tobias Moers, Boss of AMG who was asked the potential of an all-wheel drive C-Class. “C63 AMG will never be all-wheel drive, and a Black Series would be rear-wheel, but we are so busy, I don’t know if that’s going to happen.”

With that said, Moers hasn’t exactly said that the C-Class Black Series is done and dusted. However, it does leave the BMW M4 GTS to run rampant in the segment with no clear rival in site.

AMG has recently expanded their lineup with at least ten new models, and at the same time, they are developing the mind-boggling Project One to rival Aston Martin’s Valkyrie.

At the same time, Mr Moers confirmed a facelifted version of the C-Class is due next year and that there is room to produce a segment dominating machine. At least there is some good news out of all of this.

Of Course, this announcement has led to speculation Mercedes could drop the C-Class Black Series in favour for an “R” version instead similar to that of the AMG GT-R.

We’ll just have to wait and see about that.
