Summary

This 2005 Mercedes Maybach 62 is a rare find in the GCC, showcasing a remarkably low mileage of just 23,000 km, which is exceptional for a vehicle of this age. Finished in timeless Black, a color that remains the gold standard for resale value and executive presence in the UAE market, this V12-powered flagship offers a level of rear-cabin opulence that few modern cars can match. It stands out from rivals like the Rolls-Royce Phantom by offering more advanced tech-integrated luxury and a significantly more powerful twin-turbocharged powertrain. For a GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the sheer scale and complexity of this machine, which requires specialized care but rewards with a jet-like travel experience across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2005 Maybach 62s

With only 23,000 km on the odometer, this example has been driven roughly 1,200 km per year, far below the GCC average of 20,000 km. While many older luxury flagships in the region have been retired or heavily used for long-distance desert commuting, this unit retains its mechanical integrity and interior freshness. The Black exterior is highly sought after in the local market, ensuring it holds its status better than lighter or less formal shades.

V12 vs Lower Trims

The V12 trim is the definitive Maybach experience, providing the 612 hp high-output engine that lower-spec models lack. In the GCC market, the presence of the full-length 62 chassis over the shorter 57 adds significant value, primarily due to the inclusion of fully reclining First-Class rear seats. You also benefit from a built-in refrigerator and the electro-transparent panoramic glass roof, features that are essential for maintaining a premium climate and atmosphere during intense summer months.

62 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Rolls-Royce Phantom or Bentley Arnage of the same era, the Maybach 62 leads in rear-seat legroom and technical integration, featuring standard dual-screen entertainment and a cordless communication system. Its 110-litre fuel tank is specifically suited for long-distance highway cruises between Dubai and Riyadh without frequent stops. While British rivals focus on traditional craftsmanship, the Maybach leads in sheer electronic convenience and seat adjustability.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption reflects its massive V12, averaging approximately 16.4 L/100km on the highway, though this can rise significantly in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Maintenance follows the Mercedes-Benz Service A and B schedule, with a robust authorized service network available through major distributors across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. While depreciation for ultra-luxury cars is steep, this low-mileage example represents a stabilized asset for collectors, benefiting from the global trend toward appreciating modern classics.

Performance & Capability

Despite its three-ton curb weight, the 612 hp V12 propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving GCC highways. The electronically controlled AIRMATIC DC air suspension provides a magic-carpet ride, isolating passengers from road imperfections and keeping the car level at its 250 km/h limited top speed. The massive 1,000 Nm of torque means the power delivery is silent and immediate, perfect for the smooth, high-speed transit characteristic of the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary designed for the GCC climate, featuring four-zone automatic climate control and ventilated rear seats that are a necessity for local summers. The rear seats recline nearly flat, offering first-class leg rests and integrated massage functions to combat fatigue on long drives. Acoustic laminated glass and thick insulation provide a quiet environment, shielding occupants from both the heat and the noise of the city.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a suite of ten airbags and the Sensotronic Brake Control system standard on this trim. Useful for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE, the car features electronic stability programs and advanced traction control to manage its massive power. The reinforced body structure and extensive side-impact protection ensure that it remains one of the safest executive environments on the road.

The bottom line

This listing is an elite opportunity for a collector or executive buyer in the GCC looking for a low-mileage, high-spec V12 icon that has been preserved in near-showroom condition.
