Design & Styling

The Jetour G700 has the square shape and upright stance expected from a large off-road SUV. Its broad front grille, Matrix LED headlights, high bonnet and pronounced wheel arches give it a strong road presence. Measuring 5,153mm in length and 2,050mm in width, the Jetour G700 is noticeably larger than the Jetour T2 and has the proportions of a full-size SUV.

The design also supports the G700’s intended off-road use. It is built on a body-on-frame chassis and offers 230mm of ground clearance, a 35-degree approach angle, and a 28-degree departure angle. The fixed side steps fitted to the Comfort and Luxury variants are replaced by electric side steps on the Flagship model. A panoramic sunroof is available across the range, with the Flagship receiving a two-part design.

Other practical exterior features include LED lighting, roof rails, power-folding mirrors, 20-inch wheels, and an 18-inch spare wheel. Buyers can choose from colours such as Night Black, White, Highway Grey, Sand, Dark Blue, and Matte Orange. Overall, the Jetour G700 design successfully mixes the rugged appearance of an off-roader with the cleaner details expected from a premium hybrid SUV.

Engine & Performance

The Jetour G700 PHEV uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with two permanent-magnet electric motors. The engine produces 211hp and 340Nm, while the front and rear motors provide a combined 694hp and 795Nm. The complete plug-in hybrid system is rated at 904hp and 1,135Nm, making the G700 one of the most powerful production SUVs.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Despite weighing between 3,070kg and 3,200kg, depending on the variant, the Jetour G700 can accelerate from 0–100km/h in a claimed 4.6 seconds. Its maximum speed is limited to 180km/h. The electric motors should provide quick initial response, while the petrol engine supports sustained performance on highways and longer journeys.

The Jetour G700 off-road equipment includes low-speed four-wheel drive, crawl mode, Tank Turn, hill descent control, and several terrain settings. Drivers can select modes for sand, snow, mud, and rocks, along with specialist settings for wading and steep climbs. Depending on the trim, the G700 also offers front and rear differential locks, adjustable suspension, and a transparent chassis view. It can wade through water up to 900mm deep and tow up to 2,500kg.

Fuel Efficiency

As a plug-in hybrid SUV, the Jetour G700’s fuel economy depends heavily on how often its battery is charged. The official WLTC combined fuel consumption is 1.39 litres/100km.

The 34.13kWh CATL lithium-iron phosphate battery provides a claimed WLTC electric range of 80–100km. This should allow many daily journeys to be completed with limited petrol use, provided the Jetour G700 is charged regularly. When both its battery and 100-litre fuel tank are used, Jetour claims a total driving range of approximately 800–1,000km.

An 800-volt electrical platform supports DC fast charging at up to 170kW. Under the stated test conditions, charging from 30 to 80% takes around 0.17 hours, or just over ten minutes. A slower charge from 20 to 100% is approximately 4.83 hours. Actual Jetour G700 fuel efficiency and charging times will vary with temperature, driving style, terrain, passenger load, and access to a suitable charger.

Interior & Features

The Jetour G700 interior is available with two different seating layouts. The Comfort variant has five seats in a 2+3 arrangement, while the Luxury and Flagship versions use a six-seat 2+2+2 layout with individual second-row chairs. The six-seat versions focus more on passenger comfort, although their third row reduces luggage capacity when it is in use.

Front occupants receive electrically adjustable seats with ventilation and lumbar support. Higher Jetour G700 variants add leather upholstery, seat memory and massage functions. The second-row chairs can be electrically adjusted and include leg rests, while the Flagship adds an electrically operated third row. Tri-zone climate control, independent rear air conditioning, rear vents, CN95 cabin filtration, and an integrated fragrance system help make the cabin suitable for UAE conditions.

Technology is one of the Jetour G700 cabin's strongest features. The dashboard combines a wide 35.4-inch digital instrument display with a 15.6-inch central touchscreen. The Flagship also receives a 17.3-inch rear entertainment screen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice commands, USB-A and USB-C ports are available, while Luxury and Flagship models add wireless phone charging and an 18-speaker Lexicon audio system.

All variants include a 360-degree camera, tyre-pressure monitoring, multiple airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, traction control and Auto Hold. Luxury and Flagship models add Level 2 driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, traffic-jam assistance, and blind-spot detection. Automatic parking is reserved for the Flagship.

Verdict

The Jetour G700 is aimed at buyers who want the space and capability of a large off-road SUV without relying entirely on a conventional petrol engine. Its 904PS plug-in hybrid system delivers exceptional straight-line performance, while its body-on-frame construction, four-wheel-drive technology, differential locks, and 900mm wading ability provide genuine off-road credentials.

Its spacious cabin, six-seat option, large displays, and extensive comfort equipment also make the Jetour G700 suitable for family driving in the UAE. The Flagship is particularly well equipped, although many of its strongest safety, entertainment, and off-road features are not standard on the Comfort variant.

The G700’s size and weight may make it harder to manage in tight urban areas, while its best fuel economy will only be achieved through regular charging. However, buyers looking for a powerful Chinese hybrid SUV with impressive specifications, luxury features, and serious desert capability will find plenty to consider in the Jetour G700.
