Summary

This GCC-spec S350 LWB offers a refined entry into Mercedes-Benz flagship luxury, maintaining a strong presence on the road with its beige metallic finish. The 3.5-litre V6 provides a balanced power delivery that is better suited for city commuting and regional highway cruising compared to the thirstier V8 variants. With the Long Wheelbase (LWB) configuration, it offers significant rear legroom, a feature highly prized in the executive segment across the Middle East. Despite the age, the W221 generation's design remains contemporary, and this specific mileage is consistent with a well-maintained executive sedan in the GCC market. For a buyer looking for prestige without the maintenance complexity of the larger engines, this S350 represents a stable investment in luxury.

This Car vs Other 2008 S350s

With 186,000 km, this vehicle reflects an average of roughly 11,500 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC average for executive sedans. The beige exterior is a neutral, heat-reflective choice that holds resale value well in the region compared to darker shades. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the reinforced cooling systems required for the extreme local summers.

LWB vs Lower Trims

The LWB (Long Wheelbase) designation adds an additional 130mm to the wheelbase, dedicated entirely to rear-seat legroom for enhanced passenger comfort. This trim typically includes the Airmatic air suspension as standard, providing a superior ride quality over smaller executive models. Furthermore, the LWB version often features rear-cabin luxuries like power-adjustable outer seats and side-window blinds that are not standard on the short-wheelbase variants.

S350 vs Segment Rivals

The S350 leads rivals like the BMW 730Li and Lexus LS460 with its class-leading 560-litre boot capacity and a large 90-litre fuel tank for long-distance cruising. Its V6 powertrain offers a more efficient alternative to the V8-only Lexus while maintaining the high-speed stability the S-Class is famous for on regional highways. The Mercedes COMAND system and W221 cabin insulation provide a quieter environment than the contemporary Audi A8.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.1L/100km in a combined cycle, though GCC city traffic can push this toward 14.5L/100km. Service intervals are typically set at 15,000 km or 12 months, and Mercedes-Benz has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While European luxury sedans depreciate faster than Japanese rivals, the S350 holds its value better than the S500 or S600 due to its lower running costs and broader appeal.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5-litre V6 produces 272 hp and 350 Nm of torque, allowing for a top speed of 250 km/h and a 0–100 km/h sprint in 7.3 seconds. Power is sent to the rear wheels via the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission, which is optimized for smooth shifts during highway overtaking. The Airmatic suspension includes a lift mode, providing extra ground clearance for navigating high speed-bumps or uneven garage entrances common in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features the iconic W221 layout with premium leather upholstery and wood trim accents throughout the cabin. Dual-zone climate control and dedicated rear vents ensure passenger comfort during peak GCC summer temperatures. The Long Wheelbase provides enough space for rear passengers to stretch out, complemented by soft-close doors and acoustic glass that filters out road and wind noise during high-speed travel between emirates.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes the Pre-Safe system, which anticipates collisions by tensioning seatbelts and closing windows. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive airbag suite including front, side, and curtain airbags for all occupants. Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Brake Assist come standard, providing essential control during sudden maneuvers on fast-moving highways or sandy road surfaces.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional seeking a prestigious executive presence with manageable running costs, this GCC-spec LWB model is a well-preserved example of Mercedes-Benz engineering.
