Summary

This 2017 Audi A6 35 FSI is a highly capable executive sedan that balances German refinement with the durability of a naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-built to handle the region's intense summer temperatures with robust cooling and air conditioning systems. The 35 FSI trim is a rare find that avoids the complexity of turbochargers, offering a smoother power delivery and long-term mechanical reliability. With its classic white exterior, it remains one of the most practical and sought-after choices for the UAE's secondary market. This is a mature, comfortable commuter designed for those who value cabin quietness and highway stability above all else.

This Car vs Other 2017 A6s

At 170,000 km, this A6 sits at an average mileage for a 2017 model in the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes between Emirates are standard. While higher than global averages, this mileage is typical for executive sedans in this region and often indicates the vehicle has been regularly maintained for reliable daily use. The white exterior is the strongest resale color in the UAE market, reflecting heat better than darker tones and ensuring the best possible value retention.

35 FSI vs Lower Trims

The 35 FSI trim offers a significant step up from the base 4-cylinder 35 TFSI by providing a 2.8-litre V6 engine, which delivers a more linear and refined driving experience. Over lower trims, you typically find enhanced interior materials and a more comprehensive MMI infotainment system. For the GCC market, the V6's ability to maintain high cruising speeds with less stress than a smaller 4-cylinder engine is a key advantage during cross-country drives.

A6 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi A6 leads the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class in standard cabin ergonomics and a sense of minimalist luxury. Its 530-litre boot is more practical for family airport runs than many rivals in the mid-size executive segment. Furthermore, Audi's Quattro technology (where equipped) or front-wheel-drive stability provides a more planted, secure feel on the high-speed multi-lane highways common in Riyadh and Dubai.

Running Costs & Resale

The naturally aspirated 2.8L V6 is known for its mechanical simplicity compared to newer turbocharged units, often resulting in more predictable long-term maintenance costs in the GCC. Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 12.2 L/100km in mixed UAE driving conditions. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a wide network of authorized service centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are always readily available. European sedans in this category generally see an annual depreciation of 12-15% in the local market.

Performance & Capability

This A6 delivers 220 hp and 280 Nm of torque, enabling it to reach a top speed of 235 km/h where permitted. The power is managed by a 7-speed automatic transmission that provides seamless shifts, making it ideal for the stop-start traffic of Sheikh Zayed Road. The 0-100 km/h sprint of 8.7 seconds is perfectly suited for confident highway merging and overtaking at high cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seat environment focused on insulation, effectively muting wind and road noise even at speeds above 100 km/h. Standard features for this trim often include dual-zone or four-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents, essential for maintaining passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. The interior is designed with executive ergonomics, offering generous legroom for all five occupants and high-quality leather surfaces that resist wear well.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a suite of 6 standard airbags and Audi’s Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC). The braking system features large discs all around with ABS and Brake Assist, providing linear and reliable stopping power. For GCC highway driving, the inclusion of Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and traction control ensures the car remains stable even on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Audi A6 is the ideal opportunity for an executive professional looking for a prestigious, V6-powered German sedan that is already acclimated to the local climate and offers the best possible resale color.
