Lexus IS350 F SPORT

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 5.7 seconds
• Naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 engine
• F SPORT tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension

Summary

This 6-year-old sedan balances daily usability with the mechanical purity of a naturally aspirated V6, a configuration increasingly rare in the segment. With 90,000 km, its mileage sits below the GCC annual average, making it a reliable prospect for long-term ownership. The Blue exterior is a high-demand choice in the region, traditionally supporting stronger resale than non-standard shades. Choosing the F SPORT trim ensures you get the most aggressive chassis setup and cabin tech Lexus offers for this model year. For a buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, this remains the gold standard for blending Japanese reliability with a premium rear-wheel-drive experience.

This Car vs Other 2020 IS350s

At 90,000 km, this vehicle has averaged 15,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC average. While this is an American spec vehicle, it shares the robust 3.5L V6 powertrain found in local models, renowned for handling high-temperature environments. The Blue finish is a distinctive and sought-after color that typically commands a premium over more common white or silver variants in the pre-owned market.

F SPORT vs Lower Trims

The F SPORT trim is the most comprehensive upgrade for the IS350, adding the Adaptive Variable Suspension and a dedicated Sport S+ drive mode that sharpens steering and dampening. Inside, it replaces the standard seats with high-bolster sport seats featuring heating and ventilation—essential for GCC summers—and adds the LFA-inspired digital instrument cluster with a sliding physical ring. You also benefit from a unique mesh grille and 18-inch F SPORT alloy wheels that provide a far more aggressive stance than the base models.

IS350 vs Segment Rivals

The IS350 competes directly with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class but holds a distinct advantage in long-term reliability due to its naturally aspirated engine, which lacks the complexity of European turbo systems. While rivals may offer more screen real estate, the Lexus leads in cabin quietness and cooling efficiency, which are critical for cross-emirate summer drives. Its rear-wheel-drive layout maintains a traditional sports sedan balance that is increasingly disappearing among its peers.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 9.5L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC stop-start traffic may see this rise slightly. Maintenance is highly manageable thanks to the extensive authorized service networks like Al-Futtaim in the UAE and Al Sayer in Kuwait, ensuring parts are always accessible. Lexus typically sees a lower annual depreciation rate of 8–10% compared to the 12–18% often seen in European rivals, making it one of the safest luxury investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 312 hp V6 delivers linear power that makes highway overtaking effortless, reaching 100 km/h in a verified 5.7 seconds. The F SPORT tuned chassis and Rear Wheel Drive configuration provide precise handling on well-maintained UAE highways and through winding mountain passes like Jebel Jais. Selectable drive modes allow you to switch from a comfortable Eco setting for city traffic to Sport S+ for maximum engine and suspension responsiveness.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seat environment focused on driver engagement, featuring the F SPORT perforated leather steering wheel and aluminum pedals. The dual-zone climate control is engineered to combat 45°C temperatures, supported by ventilated front seats that provide immediate relief during peak summer. Acoustic glass helps maintain a hushed environment, insulating passengers from road noise during long-distance drives between Riyadh, Dubai, or Muscat.

Safety

Standard safety features include the Lexus Safety System+, which provides a full suite of ADAS including Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. These systems are particularly valuable for maintaining safety on fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The vehicle is also equipped with a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, ensuring high visibility in busy urban traffic environments.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who values mechanical longevity and a focused driving experience, this low-mileage F SPORT is the ideal alternative to high-maintenance European sedans. It represents a rare opportunity to own a naturally aspirated V6 Lexus in a standout color with significant life remaining.
