0–100 km/h in 5.2 seconds
280 hp from a 2.0L turbocharged engine
5-star Euro NCAP safety rating (2016)

This 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce is a standout choice for those seeking a driver-focused sedan that breaks away from the German mainstream. With a healthy 280 hp and rear-wheel-drive dynamics, it offers the sharpest steering in its class, making daily commutes across the Emirates far more engaging. The Blue exterior provides a sophisticated look that maintains its appeal in the GCC resale market, while the mileage is roughly average for a two-year-old vehicle in the region. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from the necessary cooling and local support essential for the summer heat. If you value Italian flair and authentic mechanical feedback over a purely digital experience, this Giulia is the right buy.

5-star Euro NCAP safety rating (2016)

Summary

This Car vs Other 2022 Giulias

With just under 70,000 km, this Giulia has been driven consistently across the UAE's highway networks, which is standard for a car of this age. Its Blue finish is a tasteful alternative to the common grayscale palette, often helping it stand out to enthusiasts during resale. The GCC-spec status ensures the air conditioning and engine cooling systems are factory-optimized for local peak temperatures.

VELOCE vs Lower Trims

The Veloce trim is the sweet spot of the range, adding a mechanical limited-slip differential and a more aggressive rear diffuser that significantly improves cornering exit compared to the Sprint or Ti. You also get 19-inch 5-hole alloy wheels and larger sport brakes with red calipers as standard. Inside, the Veloce upgrades the cabin with 14-way power-adjustable sport seats and column-mounted aluminum paddle shifters that feel plucked directly from a supercar.

Giulia vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class focus heavily on screen real estate, the Giulia leads the segment in steering precision and weight distribution. Its 58-litre fuel tank and efficient highway cruising make it well-suited for the long runs between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Unlike many competitors that require expensive optional packages for performance hardware, the Veloce includes its sport-tuned suspension and differential as standard.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 8.5 L/100km, though this can rise to 12.5 L/100km in heavy stop-start Dubai traffic. Service intervals are recommended every 15,000 km or annually at authorized centers like Gargash, ensuring the specialized 2.0L turbo stays in peak condition. While Alfas generally see a steeper initial depreciation than Japanese rivals, the Veloce trim maintains a dedicated enthusiast following in the UAE, which helps stabilize long-term value.

Performance & Capability

The 280 hp turbocharged engine delivers a punchy 400 Nm of torque, allowing for effortless highway overtaking at high speeds. Its 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is widely regarded as one of the best in the industry, offering lightning-fast shifts in Dynamic mode and smooth cruising in Natural. The rear-wheel-drive layout and near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution provide a level of balance that is increasingly rare in modern executive sedans.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around the driver, featuring a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel and an 8.8-inch multitouch display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the GCC climate, the dual-zone climate control is robust, and this trim features premium leather surfaces that stay cooler than synthetic alternatives. While the 480-litre boot is competitive for the class, the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats provide the necessary flexibility for weekend trips or shopping runs.

Safety

The 2022 Giulia comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, including Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning. Blind Spot Monitoring is particularly useful for the UAE’s fast-moving multi-lane highways, while the 5-star Euro NCAP rating is anchored by a high-strength steel and aluminum occupant cell. Front and rear parking sensors paired with a high-resolution camera make navigating tight city parking much simpler.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who prioritizes handling and Italian design, this GCC-spec Veloce offers a high-performance experience with all the local requirements already met.
