Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi ASX GLX Lowline offers an ideal entry point into the crossover segment with a focus on Japanese reliability and fuel efficiency. With 47,000 km, this white exterior example sits well below the typical annual mileage expected in the GCC, suggesting it has been used lightly for urban commuting. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle the regional climate, featuring an air conditioning system designed for extreme summer heat. For buyers across the Emirates and the wider Gulf, the ASX remains a top choice due to its proven durability and the massive availability of parts and service centers. It balances a compact footprint for city parking with enough interior volume to serve as a dependable family workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2022 ASXs

At 47,000 km, this vehicle has covered significantly less ground than the GCC annual average of 20,000 to 25,000 km, making it a low-mileage option for its model year. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat reflection during peak summer months. It represents a well-preserved example that avoids the wear often seen in high-mileage highway commuters.

GLX LOWLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLX Lowline serves as the essential entry to the ASX range, providing core essentials like cruise control and steering wheel audio buttons that are often missing on base commercial variants. Unlike the absolute base trims found in some markets, this GCC spec includes LED daytime running lights and 16-inch alloy wheels as standard. It avoids the complexity of higher-trim panoramic roofs or electronic 4WD systems, prioritizing mechanical simplicity and long-term maintenance ease.

ASX vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the Mitsubishi ASX leads with a larger 63-litre fuel tank, which is a major advantage for long-distance driving between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Its naturally aspirated 2.0L engine is often preferred by GCC buyers over smaller turbocharged rivals for its cooling efficiency and predictable long-term durability. The ASX also benefits from a higher ground clearance of 205 mm, making it more capable of handling gravel tracks and high speed bumps.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0L FWD powertrain typically ranges between 7.5L and 8.5L/100km on the highway, with city driving in stop-start traffic averaging around 11L/100km. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km across the extensive Al Habtoor and regional Mitsubishi networks, keeping maintenance predictable and affordable. The ASX holds value remarkably well in the GCC, typically seeing lower annual depreciation than European competitors due to the sheer demand for used Japanese crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The 150 hp MIVEC engine provides reliable power for highway overtaking and smooth city cruising via the INVECS-III CVT. With a top speed of approximately 190 km/h, it maintains stability at legal highway limits, while the front-wheel-drive setup ensures maximum fuel economy for daily use. A 205 mm ground clearance allows for confident driving over uneven surfaces and through minor water pooling during the rainy season.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five passengers, offering 406 litres of cargo space that expands significantly to 1,206 litres with the rear seats folded. GCC-specific cooling is a priority, with a high-output air conditioning system and well-placed vents to ensure passenger comfort during the 45°C summer months. The interior features hard-wearing materials designed to withstand the intense UV rays and dust typical of the Gulf environment.

Safety

Standard safety equipment for this GCC trim includes dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Active Stability Control (ASC). Hill Start Assist is a standard feature that prevents rolling back on inclines, which is particularly useful in multi-level parking structures. The ASX architecture has historically earned high safety marks, including a 5-star ANCAP rating, providing peace of mind for family transport.

The bottom line

This ASX is the perfect choice for a first-time car buyer or a small family in the UAE looking for a low-mileage, high-reliability crossover that won't lose its value. Its GCC-spec pedigree and white-on-black color combination make it a safe, smart investment for the local market.
