Summary

This 2023 Audi R8 V10 Performance represents the final chapter of a legendary naturally aspirated era, making it a high-priority target for GCC collectors and enthusiasts alike. With average annual mileage for its age in the local market, this RWD variant offers a purer, more tail-happy driving experience than the Quattro, perfectly suited for the wide, high-grip highways of the UAE. The Grey exterior is a staple for strong resale in the region, ensuring the car remains desirable as production has now officially ended. As a GCC-spec example, it comes fully optimized for the local climate with robust cooling systems and local service history. This is a rare opportunity to secure one of the last mid-engine V10 icons in a market where they are rapidly becoming modern classics.

This Car vs Other 2023 R8s

With 45,800 km, this R8 has been enjoyed regularly but remains within the average mileage range for high-performance daily drivers in the GCC, where 20,000 km per year is common. Its Grey finish is a high-demand resale color in Dubai and Riyadh, offering a safer investment profile compared to more eccentric shades. Being a final-year production model, it carries significantly more collectibility weight than earlier second-generation examples.

V10 PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim for the RWD model elevates power from the previous base of 540 hp to a more aggressive 570 hp. This specific trim adds key equipment often optional on lower versions, including a mechanical limited-slip differential for better traction out of corners and the revised electromechanical steering rack. It also standardizes 20-inch wheels and Performance-specific interior accents that signify its flagship status.

R8 vs Segment Rivals

The R8 stands apart from rivals like the Porsche 911 Turbo S and Lamborghini Huracán Evo RWD by offering a unique balance of supercar theatrics and Audi refinement. While the 911 focuses on clinical speed, the R8 provides the soulful roar of a naturally aspirated V10 shared with the Huracán but with a more usable cabin and superior visibility for city driving. Its wider availability of authorized service centers across the GCC makes it a more practical ownership proposition than smaller boutique brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 13 L/100km on the highway, though GCC city traffic will see this rise significantly. Audi’s authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. As the final production year for the V10, this model is expected to follow a much shallower depreciation curve than previous years, with potential for appreciation as supply for naturally aspirated supercars disappears.

Performance & Capability

The 570 hp V10 engine is the centerpiece, delivering a linear power delivery that is increasingly rare in a world of turbocharging. Reaching 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, it provides effortless overtaking power on long stretches like the E11 highway. The Rear Wheel Drive setup, paired with a specialized ESC Sport mode, allows for controlled slides and a more engaging chassis feel during weekend drives at the Dubai Autodrome.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features Audi’s 'Monoposto' cockpit design, focusing all tech toward the driver through the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit. High-quality Nappa leather and powerful GCC-spec air conditioning ensure the two-seat interior remains a comfortable refuge even during the peak of the UAE summer. Despite its supercar performance, the cabin insulation is designed to handle long-distance cruises between emirates with minimal fatigue.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes front and rear acoustic parking sensors and a high-definition rearview camera, essential for maneuvering a low-slung supercar in urban areas. The R8 is built on the Audi Space Frame (ASF), utilizing aluminum and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic for a high-strength safety cell. Advanced traction control systems are specifically tuned for the RWD layout to provide a safety net while still allowing for a spirited driving experience.

The bottom line

This is a rare chance for a GCC buyer to own a final-year, GCC-spec R8 V10 Performance that balances daily usability with the investment potential of a discontinued supercar icon.
