• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2023 Mitsubishi L200 GL offers a rare balance of high utility and passenger capacity, featuring the six-seat cabin layout that is highly sought after by fleet operators and small businesses. With its white exterior—the strongest resale color in the GCC—and manual transmission, this truck is purpose-built for longevity in demanding regional conditions. The 2.4-litre petrol engine provides a mechanical simplicity that is easier to maintain long-term compared to complex modern diesels. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for the heat, featuring the cooling performance required for the Middle Eastern climate. For a buyer needing a reliable workhorse with low annual depreciation, this late-model pickup represents one of the most practical investments in the segment.

This Car vs Other 2023 Mitsubishi L200s

With 71,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for a commercial workhorse in the GCC, where heavy highway use is standard. The white exterior is the most preferred color for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring it holds value better than darker alternatives. Being a 2023 model, it offers a more modern cabin and improved structural rigidity compared to older 5th-generation units often found at this price point.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim serves as the essential foundation for the L200 lineup, but it distinguishes itself by offering the rare 3+3 seating arrangement. Unlike higher trims that move to five seats with a fixed center console, the GL utilizes a front bench to maximize crew capacity. It retains the heavy-duty rear leaf springs and high-profile tires on steel wheels, prioritizing load-bearing and maintenance simplicity over the aesthetic extras of the GLX or GLS.

L200 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Hilux and Nissan Navara, the L200 is frequently praised for its tighter turning circle, making it more maneuverable in urban job sites. While the Hilux is often priced at a premium, the L200 offers comparable durability and a similarly vast service network across all seven Emirates and the wider GCC. Its 75-litre fuel tank is competitive for the segment, providing the necessary range for long-distance desert highway hauls.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.4L petrol engine is designed for reliability in extreme heat, with real-world fuel consumption typically averaging between 10.0 and 11.0 L/100km in mixed GCC driving. Maintenance is straightforward, with Mitsubishi’s authorized service centers widely available from Dubai to Riyadh, typically requiring service every 10,000 km. The L200 maintains strong value retention, typically depreciating at a lower annual rate of 8-10% in the regional used market compared to non-Japanese rivals.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, this L200 focuses on mechanical durability and high payload delivery. The naturally aspirated engine produces a reliable 132 hp, optimized for steady performance rather than high-speed sprints, which is ideal for carrying heavy loads. The rear-wheel-drive configuration is lighter and more fuel-efficient for highway-based logistics while still offering 200+ mm of ground clearance to handle unpaved job sites and gravel tracks easily.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is uniquely configured for six occupants, featuring a 60:40 split front bench that allows for a third passenger in the middle front seat. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the GCC, providing rapid cooling even during peak summer temperatures. Durable fabric upholstery and easy-to-clean interior plastics make this cabin well-suited for professional environments where utility and temperature management are the primary comforts.

Safety

Standard safety features include a dual-stage SRS airbag system for the front passengers, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and a reinforced impact-safety evolution (RISE) body. These systems provide essential protection and stability during heavy braking on the fast-moving highways common in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The bottom line

This L200 is the ideal choice for a GCC buyer needing a high-occupancy work truck that is easy to maintain and holds its value. It is a reliable, late-model opportunity that balances mechanical simplicity with the cooling performance required for the region.
