Summary

This 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar is a rare opportunity to own a limited-production collector's piece with under 7,500 km. As one of only 2,500 units globally, its rarity ensures exceptionally strong value retention in the GCC market, where unique Porsche allocations are highly prized. Finished in White—the strongest resale color for the region—it stands out from standard 911s with its lifted stance and rugged off-road hardware. Unlike its rivals, the Dakar combines supercar acceleration with the ability to traverse desert gravel and sand with ease. For the GCC buyer, this is the ultimate dual-purpose 911 that handles the UAE's high-speed highways and weekend desert escapes with equal brilliance.

This Car vs Other 2023 911s

With just 7,297 km, this Dakar is a low-mileage example compared to the typical 20,000 km annual average for daily-driven 911s in the GCC. The White exterior is not only practical for the intense regional heat but remains the most sought-after color for resale in Dubai and across the Middle East. While many 2023 911s are standard road cars, this limited edition represents a significant jump in collectibility and investment potential.

DAKAR vs Lower Trims

The Dakar takes the potent 473 hp powertrain from the Carrera 4 GTS and adds unique off-road architecture, including a standard lift system that provides 80 mm of additional height compared to a standard 911. It features specialized Rallye and Off-Road driving modes, rear-axle steering for tight city maneuvers, and engine mounts from the GT3 for increased structural rigidity. Lightweight glass and a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) front hood reduce weight, making it significantly more agile than a standard GTS.

911 vs Segment Rivals

The 911 Dakar competes directly with the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, offering a more usable 2-seat cabin and superior daily ergonomics for the GCC driver. While the Lamborghini is mid-engined and focused on flat-out loose-surface speed, the Porsche provides better ground clearance for varying terrains and a more extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. It bridges the gap between a pure supercar and a luxury SUV in a way no other current vehicle can.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is rated at approximately 11.3 L/100km (WLTP), performing efficiently on the long, flat highways common between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or annually, with Porsche's extensive GCC service network ensuring parts and specialized technicians are readily available. Limited-run 911s like the Dakar often defy standard 12–15% annual depreciation rates, frequently maintaining or even appreciating in value due to their restricted production and high demand among local collectors.

Performance & Capability

Despite its all-terrain focus, the Dakar sprints from 0–100 km/h in a staggering 3.4 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving UAE motorways. The all-wheel-drive system is paired with bespoke Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires, designed specifically to provide grip on sand while remaining stable at its tire-limited 240 km/h top speed. Its 191 mm maximum ground clearance allows it to clear obstacles that would stop any other sports car, making it the most capable 911 ever built for the Middle Eastern landscape.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a focused 2-seat environment featuring full bucket seats finished in model-specific Race-Tex upholstery with decorative stitching. Standard features include the Sport Chrono package and a high-performance climate control system that remains effective even in 45°C+ summer temperatures. Despite its rugged exterior, the interior retains Porsche’s signature refinement with a digital cockpit and premium materials, providing a quiet, insulated experience during long-distance cross-emirate drives.

Safety

Safety is managed by a full suite of driver-assist systems including Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with specialized off-road tuning. Rear-axle steering enhances stability during high-speed highway lane changes and improves low-speed agility in tight urban parking. The car also features advanced lighting systems for visibility on unlit desert roads and a reinforced chassis to handle the stresses of off-road use, providing peace of mind whether on the track or the trail.

The bottom line

For the collector who demands a 911 that can handle a Dubai sandstorm as easily as a Yas Marina track day, this limited-edition Dakar is the perfect acquisition. Its low mileage and GCC specification make it one of the most desirable examples on the market today.
