Summary

This 2024 BMW i5 M60 xDrive represents the pinnacle of BMW's new electric executive class, finished in high-demand black for excellent GCC resale strength. With roughly 21,000 km, this unit sits comfortably below the average annual mileage for UAE drivers, offering a near-new experience at a significant secondhand advantage. As the M-tuned performance variant, it bridges the gap between luxury commuting and supercar-rivalling acceleration with its 600 hp dual-motor setup. For the GCC buyer, the standard M Sport enhancements and advanced battery pre-conditioning ensure consistent performance even during peak summer months.

This Car vs Other 2024 i5s

With 20,992 km on the odometer, this i5 has been driven slightly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average for highway-heavy UAE commuting. The Black exterior is a top-tier resale color in the regional market, ensuring faster liquidity compared to brighter launch colors. Being a first-year model of the G60 generation, it carries the full remaining balance of the manufacturer's EV-specific warranty.

M60 XDRIVE vs Lower Trims

The M60 xDrive adds a secondary front motor for all-wheel drive, nearly doubling the output of the eDrive40 to 600 hp. It comes standard with the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system, M Sport brakes, and Adaptive Suspension Professional—features that are often expensive standalone options on lower trims. You also get the M-specific 'Iconic Glow' kidney grille and the BMW Interaction Bar as standard equipment.

i5 vs Segment Rivals

The i5 M60 leads the Mercedes-Benz EQE 53 AMG in terms of infotainment integration with the BMW Curved Display and iDrive 8.5. Against the Audi e-tron GT, it offers superior vertical cabin space and a more practical 490-liter boot, making it the better choice for executive daily use. Its 205 kW charging capability allows for rapid top-ups across the growing DEWA and ADDC fast-charging networks.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world energy consumption averages approximately 19–21 kWh/100km, offering significant savings over petrol-powered 5 Series models in Dubai's stop-start traffic. BMW's authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with electric service intervals typically being longer and less intensive than ICE equivalents. While luxury EVs face initial steep depreciation, the M60 trim's high spec helps it retain a premium over base models after the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor system delivers 601 PS (600 hp) and a massive 820 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 3.8 seconds. Its xDrive all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional grip on sand-dusted highway surfaces, while the top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h. Multiple drive modes, including 'Max Range', allow you to optimize the 81.2 kWh usable battery for long cross-emirate trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features the BMW Curved Display and the innovative Interaction Bar, providing a high-tech atmosphere that remains legible even in bright GCC sunlight. High-quality climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures the cabin cools rapidly after being parked in high temperatures. The 490-liter boot is generous for an EV in this class, and the acoustic glazing significantly reduces wind noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

This M60 is equipped with BMW's full Driving Assistant Professional suite, featuring Active Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assistant which are vital for multi-lane UAE highways. The 360° camera system with Parking Assistant Plus makes maneuvering this large sedan effortless in tight mall parking. It also includes frontal collision warning and a robust 400V battery safety housing.

The bottom line

This i5 M60 is the ideal choice for a tech-focused professional looking for M-level performance without the fuel costs, benefiting from a prime color and sensible mileage.
