Summary

This 2024 Genesis GV70 is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, offering practically new condition with significantly low mileage for its two-year age. As a Platinum trim, it provides a perfect balance of performance and luxury, featuring a 304 horsepower turbocharged engine that handles fast-paced UAE highways with ease. Competitive against established German rivals, this SUV offers a more comprehensive standard feature list and a refreshing design language that stands out in Dubai and Riyadh alike. For a GCC buyer, the primary consideration is the peace of mind offered by the regional specification, ensuring the cooling systems and electronics are built specifically for extreme summer temperatures.

This Car vs Other 2024 GV70s

With only 9,000 km on the odometer, this GV70 sits exceptionally well below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 to 25,000 km. While many 2024 models in the region have already surpassed their first major service milestones, this vehicle remains in a near-showroom state. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong secondary market appeal in a region dominated by monochrome shades.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the GV70 experience with essential GCC features like the 360-degree Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor, which projects a live camera feed into the digital cluster. It adds a more premium cabin environment with upgraded upholstery and advanced sound insulation, which is noticeably better at highway speeds than the entry-level Premium trim. The addition of standard ventilated seats is a critical differentiator for comfort during peak summer months.

GV70 vs Segment Rivals

The GV70 competes directly with the BMW X3 and Audi Q5, leading the segment with a standard 14.5-inch infotainment display and a more generous list of safety technology. While European rivals often require expensive optional packages for ventilated seats or advanced ADAS, these are standard on this Platinum trim. Its 66-litre fuel tank provides a significant range for long cross-emirate drives compared to some more compact competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5-litre turbo averages around 10.3 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC city traffic may see figures closer to 12.5 L/100km. Genesis provides a strong authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 to 15,000 km. The brand has shown impressive value retention in the local market, typically depreciating slower than its European counterparts over the first three years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-litre turbocharged engine delivers a robust 304 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6.1 seconds, which is among the quickest in its class for a four-cylinder. The standard all-wheel-drive system and selectable drive modes provide excellent stability during high-speed highway overtaking and occasional gravel tracks. While designed for the road, its refined chassis is well-suited for long-distance family trips between Dubai and Muscat.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat layout features a driver-centric cockpit with a high-definition digital cluster and a 14.5-inch widescreen display. GCC-specific comfort is prioritized with powerful multi-zone climate control and ventilated front seats that quickly combat high external temperatures. Double-glazed acoustic glass ensures the cabin remains exceptionally quiet, isolating passengers from road noise during long desert highway stretches.

Safety

This Platinum trim comes equipped with a full ADAS suite, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance. The 360-degree camera system is particularly useful for navigating tight parking spaces in major GCC cities. It also features Highway Driving Assist, which provides semi-autonomous steering and distance control, significantly reducing driver fatigue on long-distance journeys.

The bottom line

This GV70 is ideal for a professional or small family seeking a distinctive luxury SUV that is mechanically current and has barely been driven. It offers a unique combination of high-tier features and low-mileage reliability that is difficult to find in the current 2024 used market.
