Summary

This 2024 Haval Jolion in High Deluxe trim represents a sharp buying opportunity for GCC residents seeking a modern crossover with negligible wear. With just over 13,000 km, it sits well below the average annual mileage for the region, offering the balance of a nearly-new vehicle with the initial depreciation already realized. The High Deluxe trim is the sweet spot for the UAE and wider GCC market, bundling the premium tech features like the 360-degree camera and advanced safety systems that local buyers prioritize for highway safety and urban parking. Its white exterior is not only a practical choice for the extreme summer heat but also ensures the strongest possible resale value when it comes time to upgrade. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for the regional climate and supported by an expanding authorized service network.

This Car vs Other 2024 Jolions

While many 2024 models in the GCC market approach 25,000 km in their first year due to long-distance commuting, this Jolion has covered just 13,262 km. This low-usage profile means significantly less wear on the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and suspension components. The white exterior remains the most sought-after color in the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, providing a distinct advantage in both cooling efficiency and future liquid resale.

High Deluxe vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the High Deluxe trim adds essential features that the Basic and mid-range trims lack, most notably the larger 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 360-degree panoramic camera system. It also introduces the full L2 autonomous driving suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist, which are transformative for long highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Additionally, the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof and wireless charging elevates the cabin to a premium tier compared to the entry-level models.

Jolion vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Corolla Cross or Hyundai Creta, the Jolion offers a more comprehensive technology suite at a more accessible entry point. It leads in cabin tech, providing a larger digital cockpit and a more advanced ADAS platform as standard equipment. For the GCC buyer, the Jolion's interior space and rear legroom often surprise those cross-shopping in the compact crossover segment, making it a more viable family vehicle for weekend trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.5L turbo typically averages around 7.5 to 8.2 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though heavy stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai can see this rise slightly. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km or 6 months, and the authorized service network is well-established across the UAE, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. While Chinese brands typically face steeper initial depreciation than Japanese rivals, the Jolion's high feature-to-price ratio helps it retain approximately 70-75% of its value over the first three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine produces a reliable 141 hp to 156 hp depending on specific regional tuning, delivering a smooth 0-100 km/h time of approximately 9.8 seconds. This performance is well-suited for merging onto fast-moving regional highways, with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission providing quick shifts. While it is a road-biased front-wheel-drive crossover, its 168 mm ground clearance is ample for handling speed bumps and graded gravel roads during weekend outings.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the high-temperature GCC climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone automatic air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to ensure passenger comfort in summer. The High Deluxe trim features synthetic leather-look seating and a leather-wrapped steering wheel that resists heat better than darker, genuine hide. Acoustic insulation is commendable for the class, keeping the interior quiet during high-speed highway cruising between emirates.

Safety

Safety is a primary pillar for the Jolion, which carries a 5-star ANCAP rating. The High Deluxe trim includes six airbags and a robust suite of active safety technologies, including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. These systems are particularly valuable on multi-lane highways where fast-moving traffic and frequent lane changes are standard, providing an extra layer of protection for the driver and family.

The bottom line

This low-mileage, High Deluxe Jolion is the ideal choice for a tech-focused buyer who wants the latest safety features and a premium cabin feel without the high entry cost of Japanese rivals.
