Summary

This 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport represents a rare opportunity in the GCC market, offering the high-torque efficiency of the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain with very low mileage. Its black-on-black configuration is a top-tier choice for resale strength in the UAE, ensuring it holds its value better than more niche colors. In a region where highway commutes and desert weekends define ownership, the hybrid system provides significant fuel savings during heavy city traffic while retaining legendary 4x4 capability for the sand. The Sport S trim for this model year brings updated tech usually reserved for higher trims, making it a savvy buy for those who want modern features without the Rubicon price tag.

This Car vs Other 2024 Wrangler Unlimiteds

With just 23,000 km, this Wrangler sits well below the average GCC annual usage of 25,000 km, representing a vehicle that has barely begun its service life. The black exterior is highly favored in the local used market for its professional aesthetic and superior resale liquidity compared to bright or pastel tones. While many 2024 models on the market are standard petrol variants, this hybrid unit offers a technological advantage that is increasingly sought after by urban UAE buyers.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

As the entry point into the electrified 4xe range for 2024, the Sport S trim is significantly upgraded over the base petrol Sport, including 20-inch alloy wheels and a full-time 4WD transfer case as standard. Crucially for GCC comfort, it features the large 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen and adaptive cruise control, features that make long highway stretches between Emirates much less taxing. It also includes forward collision warning and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, providing a premium feel that basic trims lack.

Wrangler Unlimited vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Ford Bronco or the Land Rover Defender, the Wrangler 4xe is the only vehicle in its class to offer a plug-in hybrid option in this price bracket, allowing for silent, fuel-free city driving. Its body-on-frame construction and solid axles provide a level of durability and ease of repair that monocoque rivals cannot match when subjected to harsh desert terrain. The inclusion of a 762 mm wading depth gives it a distinct advantage during the heavy rain and flash flooding occasionally seen in the UAE.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the hybrid system can reach as low as 4.8 L/100km when utilizing the battery for short commutes, a massive improvement over the 12-14 L/100km typical of standard V6 SUVs in GCC traffic. Jeep maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km ensuring long-term reliability. The Wrangler remains a champion of value retention in the GCC, typically depreciating only 8-12% annually, significantly slower than luxury-oriented European off-roaders.

Performance & Capability

The 4xe powertrain delivers an impressive 375 hp and 637 Nm of torque, allowing this SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately 6 seconds, which is remarkably fast for a body-on-frame 4x4. The instant torque from the electric motor is a game-changer for sand driving, providing the low-end grunt needed to navigate soft dunes without the lag of a traditional engine. It features three driving modes—Hybrid, Electric, and E-Save—allowing you to preserve your battery charge specifically for the trails.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the extreme GCC climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone automatic climate control system that quickly cools the interior even after hours in the sun. The 12.3-inch infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the interior materials are water-resistant and feature floor drain plugs for easy cleaning after a desert trip. Despite its rugged exterior, the acoustic windshield and updated insulation provide a quieter highway experience for family road trips.

Safety

This trim comes standard with an advanced safety suite including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Advanced Brake Assist, providing peace of mind on fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The high-voltage battery is encased in a waterproof, sealed enclosure to ensure safe operation during water fording or heavy rain. Standard side-curtain airbags and electronic stability control with roll mitigation ensure high levels of protection for all five passengers.

The bottom line

This low-mileage 4xe Sport is the perfect match for a UAE professional who wants the iconic Wrangler look and capability with modern fuel efficiency and a premium tech suite.
