Summary

This 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 delivers the ultimate combination of supercar-rivaling performance and seven-seat family luxury. With only 3,000 km, this American-spec SUV presents an exceptional opportunity to skip the waitlist for a near-new flagship AMG. The white exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the GCC, offering better heat reflection and stronger value retention than darker shades. For the driver who needs to balance school runs with high-speed highway refinement, the handcrafted V8 and sophisticated air suspension make it the segment leader for dual-purpose capability. In the GCC market, where long-distance cruising is standard, the active cabin cooling and massing seats ensure every journey is effortless.

This Car vs Other 2024 GLS63 AMGs

With just 3,000 km, this vehicle’s mileage is significantly lower than the typical 20,000 km annual average for luxury SUVs in the UAE. As an American-spec model, it offers the same mechanical performance as GCC variants but represents a better value entry point for the 2024 model year. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the region, widely recognized as the top-tier resale color due to its local popularity and maintenance ease.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG GLS 63 transforms the standard GLS into a performance powerhouse, adding the handcrafted 4.0L V8 and AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-speed transmission. Unlike the GLS 450 or 580, this trim includes the AMG Active Ride Control with active roll stabilization, crucial for handling the weight of a large SUV on UAE highway curves. Buyers also benefit from exclusive Nappa leather interior appointments and the high-performance AMG braking system as standard.

GLS63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The GLS 63 AMG competes directly with the BMW X7 M60i and the Range Rover SV. It distinguishes itself by offering a genuinely usable third row for adults, which the Range Rover lacks, and a more intuitive MBUX infotainment interface compared to the X7's recent digital-only climate controls. Its 850 Nm of torque provides superior overtaking confidence on fast-moving highways like the E11 compared to its naturally aspirated or less powerful rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is rated at approximately 13.5 L/100km combined, though GCC stop-start traffic will see higher figures. The vehicle features a large 90-liter fuel tank, providing excellent range for cross-emirate drives. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts for the biturbo V8 are readily available. While European luxury SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese rivals, the GLS 63 remains the most liquid asset in the Mercedes SUV lineup due to high local demand for the AMG badge.

Performance & Capability

The GLS 63 rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds, a staggering feat for a vehicle of its size. The 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system features fully variable torque distribution, which ensures maximum grip during sudden acceleration or when navigating gravel paths on weekend excursions. With a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, it is also perfectly suited for hauling jet skis or horse trailers across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring powerful multi-zone climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows. Both front and second-row occupants enjoy ventilated and heated seats, while the acoustic glass effectively insulates the interior from the heat and wind noise of high-speed highway driving. The standard Burmester Surround Sound system provides a concert-like audio experience, making long family road trips remarkably relaxing.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive ADAS suite with Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, which is essential for managing the long desert highway stretches between cities. The 360-degree camera system and Active Parking Assist make navigating tight mall parking structures effortless. Additionally, the GLS 63 includes Pre-Safe Impulse Side, which helps protect occupants in the event of a side-impact collision, a feature often optional in other luxury segments.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who refuses to choose between a performance car and a family SUV, this ultra-low mileage GLS 63 AMG in the region's best resale color is the smartest luxury acquisition available today.
