Summary

This 2024 MG GT Comfort hits a sweet spot in the used market with mileage that reflects standard GCC highway use while offering a significant performance jump over the base model. Its silver exterior is a top-tier choice for the region, known for hiding dust and maintaining strong resale value in the UAE and Saudi markets. As the mid-spec turbo variant, it provides the punchy acceleration its sporty fastback styling suggests, unlike the entry-level naturally aspirated versions. For the GCC driver, it delivers a modern, tech-focused cabin that feels more premium than its price point, backed by an extensive regional service network. This specific listing is an ideal opportunity for a young professional seeking a reliable, high-spec commuter that stands out from more generic economy sedans.

This Car vs Other 2024 MG GTs

With 43,000 km, this car aligns with the typical GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, indicating it has been used primarily for routine highway commuting. The silver exterior is one of the most practical and sought-after colors in the local market, ensuring it stays cooler in summer and retains value better than bolder shades. Choosing this model year means you benefit from the most up-to-date tech and the balance of the manufacturer's long-term regional warranty.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim is a major upgrade over the STD variant, most notably replacing the naturally aspirated engine with a 173 hp turbocharged unit and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission. Inside, it adds the 360° camera system which is essential for tight city parking in the UAE, alongside larger 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that fill the arches more aggressively. It also features a larger 50-litre fuel tank, extending its range for cross-emirate trips compared to the base model's 45-litre tank.

GT vs Segment Rivals

The MG GT leads rivals like the Honda City and Toyota Yaris by offering a turbocharged powertrain that provides significantly more overtaking confidence on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. Its 401-litre boot is highly practical for the segment, and the fastback design offers a unique aesthetic that competitors cannot match. Additionally, MG's inclusion of a standard 360° camera in this trim level is a feature often reserved for much more expensive executive sedans.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this turbo model averages approximately 5.9 L/100 km, making it efficient for both stop-start traffic and long desert highway runs. Service intervals are set at 10,000 km or 6 months, and with one of the fastest-growing authorized service networks in the GCC, parts and maintenance are easily accessible across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The MG GT has shown competitive value retention in the regional used market, typically holding roughly 65-70% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine produces 173 hp and 250 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint of 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 215 km/h. This makes it one of the quickest cars in its price bracket, providing the responsiveness needed for confident lane changes on high-speed regional roads. The 7-speed DCT is tuned for smooth shifts in city traffic while offering a more engaging drive through the paddle shifters when you hit the open road.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with a fighter-jet inspired cockpit, featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen with full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. For the GCC climate, the automatic air conditioning is engineered for high-ambient temperatures, ensuring the cabin stays chilled even during peak summer afternoons. The seating for five is complemented by a leather-wrapped steering wheel and high-quality soft-touch materials that elevate the interior feel above typical economy rivals.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the Comfort trim, featuring six airbags and a full Electronic Stability Program (ESP) suite. Standard equipment includes Hill-Hold Control to prevent rollback on inclines and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which is vital for maintaining safety during high-temperature highway drives. The 360° camera and rear parking sensors provide excellent spatial awareness, making it one of the safest and easiest cars to maneuver in its class.

The bottom line

For a buyer wanting a late-model sedan with turbocharged performance and high-end tech without the premium price tag, this 2024 MG GT is the most stylish and capable choice in the current market.
