Summary

This MG HS Luxury is a high-spec crossover that pairs modern styling with a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, a significant step up from the base 1.5L units commonly found in this segment. With just 34,147 km on the clock, this GCC-spec unit has been driven sparingly, averaging well under the typical 25,000 km per year seen in the region. The all-wheel-drive system provides extra stability for long cross-emirate highway drives, while the Luxury trim adds high-end touches that rival premium brands. Its grey exterior is a neutral, sought-after choice in the GCC market, offering a sophisticated look while maintaining strong resale demand. For a buyer looking for a near-new SUV with a full feature set, this listing represents an excellent balance of performance and value.

This Car vs Other 2024 HSs

At roughly 34,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is notably lower than the GCC market average for a 2024 model, which often nears 45,000 to 50,000 km given the region's heavy highway usage. Being a 2.0-liter AWD Luxury variant, it sits at the top of the HS range, offering more power and better traction than the more common 1.5-liter front-wheel-drive versions. The grey finish is highly practical for the local environment, hiding road dust effectively while ensuring steady resale value.

LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Luxury trim elevates the HS experience with features GCC buyers prioritize, such as a large panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera system for easier parking in tight city spots. Unlike the Comfort trim, this model includes dual-zone automatic climate control for better cabin management during summer and premium sports seats. Safety is also upgraded here with the inclusion of curtain airbags and advanced blind-spot monitoring, essential for fast-moving highway traffic.

HS vs Segment Rivals

The MG HS competes directly with the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, leading the segment with a higher torque output from its 2.0L turbo engine compared to its rivals' naturally aspirated offerings. It also packs more standard technology, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital cluster, which are often expensive options on its competitors. The HS offers one of the most generous rear legroom figures in its class, making it a favorite for family road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 2.0L Turbo engine averages around 8.2L/100km, which is efficient for a turbocharged SUV during long highway cruises between cities. MG has one of the fastest-growing authorized service networks in the GCC, with major centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The brand's value retention has improved significantly, with the HS now maintaining roughly 55-60% of its value after three years, outperforming many newer entrants in the local market. Standard service intervals are every 10,000 km, keeping maintenance predictable for owners.

Performance & Capability

With 231 hp and 360 Nm of torque, this HS provides punchy acceleration that makes highway overtaking effortless, even with a full load of passengers. The all-wheel-drive system features a dedicated 'Super Sport' mode that sharpens throttle response and gear changes for a more engaging drive. While primarily a road-biased SUV, its 175 mm ground clearance and AWD system are perfectly suited for navigating gravel roads or reaching beachside camping spots across the Emirates. The 6-speed dual-clutch transmission ensures smooth power delivery during both stop-start city traffic and high-speed cruising.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring a powerful dual-zone air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The Luxury trim is equipped with leather sports seats that offer excellent support for long-distance drives and are complemented by customizable ambient lighting. The large 10.1-inch infotainment screen supports smartphone integration, while the panoramic sunroof adds a sense of airiness to the cabin. Soft-touch materials across the dashboard and door panels provide a refined interior environment that minimizes road noise at highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the Luxury trim, which comes equipped with the MG Pilot suite including Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to help navigate multi-lane highway traffic. The vehicle features a full set of front, side, and curtain airbags, along with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Descent Control for varied terrain. A standard 360-degree camera and rear parking sensors provide total visibility, making it one of the easiest SUVs in its class to maneuver in crowded urban environments.

The bottom line

This MG HS Luxury is the ideal choice for a GCC buyer seeking a modern, tech-rich SUV with superior turbo performance without the premium price tag of European rivals. Its low mileage and top-tier trim status make it a standout opportunity in the current used market.
