Summary

This 2024 MG One in classic Black offers a compelling combination of contemporary style and modern engineering, making it a standout choice in the compact SUV segment. With its low mileage and GCC specifications, this vehicle represents a reliable long-term investment for urban professionals and small families alike. The 1.5-litre turbo engine provides a punchy 181 horsepower, ensuring confident highway cruising across the Emirates while maintaining impressive fuel efficiency. As a recent model year with a strong regional presence, it benefits from MG's extensive authorized service network and growing resale demand. This specific listing is a rare opportunity to secure a near-new crossover that balances advanced tech with daily practicality.

This Car vs Other 2024 MG Ones

With just under 36,000 km, this MG One sits at a healthy average for a GCC-owned vehicle, reflecting typical highway-based commutes between emirates. Many similar models of this year already exceed 45,000 km, giving this unit a distinct advantage in mechanical longevity. The Black exterior is a highly sought-after resale color in the regional market, providing a professional aesthetic that holds its value better than more niche shades.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim serves as the entry point into the MG One lineup but remains impressively equipped with features often reserved for higher tiers in this segment. It includes the signature 12.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, along with essential LED lighting and alloy wheels as standard. While higher trims add 360-degree cameras and leather upholstery, the Standard trim focuses on the core mechanical performance and digital connectivity that modern drivers prioritize.

MG One vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Kicks or Mitsubishi ASX, the MG One leads with a significantly higher power output of 181 hp from its turbocharged mill. It offers a more tech-centric cabin with its widescreen digital cockpit, a feature often found in much more expensive segments. Additionally, the SIGMA platform provides independent rear suspension, offering a more refined ride quality over long desert highway stretches than many competitors' torsion beam setups.

Running Costs & Resale

Owners can expect a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 6.5 to 7.1 L/100km, making it very economical for daily GCC traffic. Service intervals are typically set at 10,000 km or 6 months, and with MG's widespread authorized centers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, maintenance is both convenient and affordable. The MG One has shown steady value retention in the pre-owned market due to the brand's rapid growth and the balance of its 6-year manufacturer warranty often transferring to new owners.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine delivers a robust 285 Nm of torque, enabling an 8.8-second sprint to 100 km/h, which is ample for safe overtaking on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The CVT transmission is specifically tuned for smoothness, eliminating shift shock during stop-and-go city driving in Riyadh or Dubai. With a top speed of 180 km/h and independent suspension at all four corners, it handles high-speed stability and urban maneuverability with equal poise.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the GCC climate in mind, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool during peak summer. The interior offers 336 litres of cargo volume, expandable to 1,120 litres with the 60:40 split-folding rear seats, easily accommodating family grocery runs or weekend luggage. High-quality fabric seating provides a temperature-neutral experience, avoiding the initial heat-soak common with leather in the desert sun.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this trim, featuring front airbags, Anti-lock Braking (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to maintain control during emergency maneuvers. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Hold Control provide extra security on varied road surfaces, while the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is a vital tool for long-distance desert drives. Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera come standard to simplify parking in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a tech-forward, fuel-efficient SUV that is still under its prime operating window, this GCC-spec MG One is a balanced and modern choice for life in the Emirates.
