Summary

The 2025 BYD Seal 06 marks a significant step forward in PHEV efficiency, featuring the fifth-generation DM-i hybrid system that offers an incredible total range for long GCC highway stretches. This specific unit, finished in high-resale White, represents a nearly new opportunity to own one of the most technologically advanced sedans in the market today. It stands out by balancing a quiet electric-first driving experience with a 1.5-litre engine that eliminates range anxiety entirely during cross-country trips. For the GCC buyer, this model offers the perfect transition to electrified driving without the need to rely solely on public charging infrastructure. With its fresh 2025 model year status and ultra-low running costs, it is a highly competitive alternative to traditional petrol sedans.

This Car vs Other 2025 SEAL 06s

As a 2025 model year vehicle, this unit features the very latest DM-i 5.0 hardware, distinguishing it from older hybrid iterations. The White exterior is widely considered the safest choice for value retention in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets, effectively reflecting heat while remaining the most in-demand color for pre-owned buyers. Given its current model year, the mileage is exceptionally low compared to the 25,000 km annual average typical for commuters between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

STANDARD vs Higher Trims

The Standard trim provides a balanced entry point into the Seal 06 lineup, including essential tech like the signature 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen and a comprehensive digital cockpit. While higher trims add larger wheels and a panoramic sunroof, the Standard trim remains the efficiency leader due to its lighter weight and optimized 17-inch alloy wheels. It retains high-value features such as synthetic leather upholstery and keyless entry, which are staples for the modern GCC driver.

SEAL 06 vs Segment Rivals

The Seal 06 leads rivals like the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Honda Accord in terms of total combined range, offering over 2,000 km on a full tank and charge. Its fifth-generation hybrid thermal efficiency surpasses most traditional hybrids, providing a more refined electric-first feel in heavy city traffic. Furthermore, the inclusion of a 360° camera and advanced infotainment as standard gives it a significant tech advantage over base-level European and Japanese competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are among the lowest in the sedan segment, with an official combined fuel consumption of just 2.9 L/100km when utilizing the hybrid system. The BYD service network is expanding rapidly across the GCC, with major hubs like Al-Futtaim in the UAE providing established authorized support and parts availability. While Chinese hybrids are still establishing their long-term depreciation curves, BYD's market-leading battery technology and 8-year warranty support strong value retention compared to emerging EV brands.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre PHEV powertrain delivers 163 hp, enabling a brisk 0–100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds, which is more than adequate for confident highway merging and overtaking. The car is designed for efficiency at cruising speeds, reaching a top speed of 180 km/h with high stability thanks to its refined chassis. Multiple drive modes allow the driver to prioritize pure electric mode for short urban commutes or hybrid mode for maximum range during cross-border travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a 5-seat layout with generous legroom thanks to a 2,790 mm wheelbase, rivaling executive-class sedans. The powerful dual-zone climate control is engineered to handle extreme summer temperatures, ensuring passenger comfort even during the peak of the GCC summer. Acoustic insulation is high for the segment, providing a serene environment that highlights the clarity of the standard multi-speaker audio system.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a suite of 6 airbags and advanced electronic stability systems designed to maintain traction on varying road surfaces, including sand-blown highways. The Standard trim includes essential ADAS features such as a 360° camera and rear parking sensors to aid in tight urban parking scenarios. Its high-strength body construction and integrated battery safety protocols provide peace of mind for family use.

The bottom line

This 2025 BYD Seal 06 is an ideal choice for the tech-focused commuter looking to slash fuel costs without sacrificing long-distance range. It represents a rare chance to secure the latest hybrid technology in the GCC's most popular resale color.
