Summary

This 2025 Geely Tugella GL offers a compelling opportunity for GCC buyers looking for a nearly-new crossover that balances modern styling with impressive performance. Its metallic grey exterior is one of the most resilient shades for the region, effectively masking dust and retaining strong resale value in the UAE and Saudi markets. With its mileage currently sitting well below the typical annual average for a UAE-driven vehicle, this car provides a significant ownership buffer while remaining under its comprehensive manufacturer warranty. The GL trim is particularly sought after for providing high-end tech features usually reserved for premium European rivals at a much more accessible price point. For a buyer in the GCC, the most important consideration is Geely's rapid expansion and localized testing, ensuring this vehicle is purpose-built to handle the intense summer heat and high-speed highway commutes across the Emirates. This specific listing stands out as a high-value entry into the modern coupe-SUV segment without the steep depreciation typically associated with luxury brands.

This Car vs Other 2025 Tugellas

When comparing this vehicle to other 2025 Tugellas in the GCC used market, the primary advantage is its excellent mileage-to-age ratio. While the average GCC driver covers 20,000 to 25,000 kilometers annually, this car has seen moderate use that ensures the engine and transmission are perfectly broken in without being overworked. The grey exterior is a strategic choice for the local climate, as it reflects heat more effectively than black while hiding the fine desert sand better than white, making it a favorite for used car buyers. Mechanically, since this is a 2025 model, it benefits from the latest software updates and cooling enhancements established by the manufacturer for the regional market. Choosing this specific unit allows a buyer to bypass the initial steep showroom depreciation while still enjoying a vehicle that feels and smells brand new. It represents a balanced middle ground between the high-mileage daily commuters and the more expensive zero-kilometer warehouse stock.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim serves as a significant upgrade over the base luxury offerings, integrating several high-tech amenities that are essential for the GCC climate. Most notably, the GL often includes an upgraded 360-degree camera system and a suite of sensors that make navigating tight parking spots in Dubai or Riyadh effortless. Inside, the GL trim replaces standard materials with more durable, premium finishes that are better suited to resist UV damage during the long Arabian summers. You also get an enhanced infotainment experience with larger displays and better smartphone integration, which are vital for long-distance navigation across the emirates. The climate control system in this trim is also more sophisticated, providing more precise cooling zones to ensure all passengers remain comfortable even when external temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius. These additional features are not just luxuries; they are the specific options that second-hand buyers look for, ensuring your resale value remains higher than the base models.

Tugella vs Segment Rivals

The Tugella competes directly with established players like the Mazda CX-5 and the Toyota RAV4, but it carves out a niche by offering a 'Coupe SUV' silhouette that rivals usually charge a premium for. Compared to the RAV4, the Tugella offers a more modern, turbocharged driving experience and a cabin that feels significantly more tech-focused and futuristic. Against the CX-5, the Geely provides a more spacious interior and a more aggressive stance on the road, which is highly valued by younger drivers in the region. The Tugella's 4-cylinder turbocharged engine is specifically tuned to provide snappy mid-range torque, which is far more useful for overtaking on the E11 highway than the naturally aspirated engines found in many of its competitors. Additionally, the sheer amount of standard safety technology included in this model often surpasses what rivals offer in their mid-tier trims, providing a safer environment for families. It is the ideal choice for someone who wants the prestige of a modern design without the high maintenance costs of a BMW or Mercedes-Benz.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for this vehicle are among the most competitive in its class, thanks to its 2.0L turbocharged engine which balances power with efficiency. In stop-start Sharjah or Dubai traffic, the engine remains efficient, while highway cruising at 120 km/h sees fuel consumption drop significantly, making it ideal for cross-country trips. Geely has established a robust service network across the UAE through AGMC and across Saudi Arabia via Wallan, ensuring that parts and expert technicians are always within reach. Service intervals are standardized and predictable, with a transparent cost structure that undercuts European competitors by a wide margin. In terms of resale, the Tugella has shown surprising resilience in the UAE market, with depreciation rates stabilizing as the brand gains more trust and visibility. You can expect this car to retain a healthy percentage of its value over a three-year period, especially given its GCC-specific cooling and filtration systems. This makes it a sound financial decision for those who plan to upgrade in a few years.

Performance & Capability

At the heart of this vehicle is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers smooth, responsive power through its automatic transmission. The front-wheel-drive configuration is perfectly suited for city life and long-distance highway cruising, offering better fuel economy and lower maintenance than all-wheel-drive variants. With a 0-100 km/h time that feels brisk and confident, this crossover has no trouble merging into fast-moving traffic on the Sheikh Zayed Road. The ground clearance is ample for navigating speed bumps, mounting curbs in urban areas, and handling light gravel paths during weekend outings to the wadis. The steering is light and precise, making the vehicle feel smaller and more agile than its SUV dimensions would suggest. Suspension tuning is a highlight, as it remains composed over the minor road imperfections often found in older urban areas while staying firm enough for confident high-speed cornering. It is a car that feels engineered for the diversity of GCC road conditions, from glassy highways to busy street markets.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of this five-seater is a masterclass in modern ergonomics designed for the local driver. The seating is upholstered in high-quality materials that are designed to stay cool, with the GL trim offering excellent bolster support for long journeys between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Special attention has been paid to the air conditioning system, which is a high-output unit capable of chilling the cabin in minutes even after the car has been parked in the sun. Rear passengers are treated to generous legroom and dedicated air vents, ensuring that the whole family stays comfortable regardless of the temperature outside. The cabin insulation is particularly impressive, shielding occupants from the wind noise typically experienced at high highway speeds. The infotainment system is intuitive and positioned naturally to reduce driver distraction, featuring crisp graphics and fast response times. Ample storage compartments and a surprisingly deep boot make this an excellent choice for a family's primary vehicle or for professional commuters who carry equipment.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of this model, which carries a 5-star NCAP rating thanks to its high-strength steel cage and advanced airbag systems. The GL trim is packed with driver assistance technologies that are particularly valuable in the GCC, such as Blind Spot Detection, which is a lifesaver on multi-lane highways. Adaptive Cruise Control makes long-distance travel significantly less fatiguing, while the Lane Keeping Assist ensures the vehicle stays centered during highway cruising. The braking system is sharp and responsive, featuring Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist for emergency situations in heavy traffic. Stability and traction control systems are specifically calibrated to handle the occasionally dusty or sandy road surfaces encountered in the region after a windstorm. Furthermore, the 360-degree camera provides a bird's-eye view of the surroundings, making it nearly impossible to have a low-speed collision while maneuvering in busy urban environments. This comprehensive approach to safety provides peace of mind for both the driver and their family.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer who wants a 2025 model with low mileage and a sophisticated feature set, this grey Tugella GL is an exceptional choice. It offers the perfect blend of modern style, regional reliability, and intelligent technology, making it one of the smartest buys in the current used car market.
