Summary

This 2025 Genesis GV80 Royal represents the peak of Korean luxury engineering, offering a sophisticated alternative to established German rivals. With 26,000 km, this vehicle is barely broken in for the GCC market and provides a near-new experience with the benefit of its initial depreciation already realized. The Storr Green exterior is a standout choice that commands attention while maintaining strong desirability in the local market. For those prioritizing family comfort in the Gulf summer, the Royal trim includes essential cooling features that extend to the rear passengers. This GCC-spec flagship is a premier choice for buyers seeking executive refinement and all-wheel-drive capability for the UAE's varied terrain.

This Car vs Other 2025 GV80s

With 26,000 km on the odometer, this GV80 sits slightly above the average annual usage for the GCC, which typically ranges between 20,000 and 25,000 km. However, as a current model-year vehicle, it offers the distinct advantage of the latest tech updates and a full manufacturer warranty. The Green exterior is a unique, high-character choice that maintains a more exclusive presence than the high volume of white or silver units usually found in Dubai.

ROYAL vs Lower Trims

The Royal trim is the definitive flagship of the GV80 range, adding high-end Nappa leather and a synthetic suede headliner that transforms the cabin atmosphere. Unlike the Advanced trim, the Royal features power-adjustable and ventilated second-row seats, alongside soft-close doors and a 27-inch OLED integrated cockpit. These additions are highly sought after by GCC buyers who value passenger comfort during long cross-emirate drives in peak summer.

GV80 vs Segment Rivals

The GV80 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 by offering a more extensive suite of standard luxury features, such as the dedicated third-row climate zone. While competitors often require expensive optional packages for ventilated rear seats, Genesis includes them as standard on this trim. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long-distance highway cruising between Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Muscat.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5T V6 powertrain typically consumes between 11.6 and 12.8 L/100km, performing most efficiently during steady highway cruising across the Emirates. Maintenance is supported by an expanding network of authorized Genesis service centers in major GCC hubs like Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah. Historically, the GV80 holds roughly 70% of its value over three years in the GCC, performing competitively against European counterparts due to its high standard equipment levels.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 producing 380 hp and 530 Nm of torque, this SUV achieves 0–100 km/h in a swift 5.5 seconds. The All-Wheel Drive system includes selectable terrain modes—Snow, Mud, and Sand—making it well-suited for weekend escapes to desert borders or gravel wadi paths. Electronically controlled suspension with road preview scans the surface ahead to maintain a composed ride even on uneven terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seater configuration is designed for maximum family utility, featuring a power-folding third row that offers 328 litres of space when upright and expands significantly for cargo. The cabin is an oasis against the GCC heat, featuring a multi-zone climate system and acoustic glass that ensures a quiet, cool environment. Tech-focused buyers will appreciate the Bang & Olufsen audio system and the expansive digital cockpit that integrates navigation seamlessly.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for the GV80, which carries a 5-star safety rating and a comprehensive ADAS suite as standard. Key systems include blind-spot collision-avoidance, which is vital for fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic, and adaptive cruise control for long desert drives. The vehicle is also equipped with a 360-degree camera and a digital rearview mirror to ensure clear visibility even when the third row is fully occupied.

The bottom line

Perfect for the executive family buyer who demands flagship luxury and high-performance V6 power without the premium pricing of German equivalents. This GCC-spec Royal trim offers an unbeatable combination of immediate availability and top-tier equipment.
